Neat, particle systems and volumetric's are fun, looks like maybe some L-systems in there too

You can do that in Blender pretty easily btw, just set up a particle system, load an audio file and hook the
audio to the birth-rate parameter I would guess. Looks like he's using multiple parameters there in whatever software he's using. Anyway, the amplitude of the audio sets the parameter.
*I only mention blender as it's free, most 3D software has a way to do this in it somewhere.
