They ignored a few things, like fuzz's origins in country music, and no mention of Blue Cheer.
Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

That list, (like most of these kinds lists), is pure BS. As you mentioned, there were country cats using before it even was discovered by rockers. And then no Jeff Beck, Link Wray, Ritchie Blackmore, Ed King, (Incense and Peppermints. Ed later played with Lynyrd Skynyrd.). I could go on for a long time here but you get the idea). And after excluding true PIONEERS they include all these Johnny & Jane come lately's. I mean MUSE Really?? For f#ck's sake I wish I hadn't even looked at that cuz now I'm pissed!! Every time I look at one of these type of lists I always walk away pissed.....LOL! :P

Fuzz was also used in metal, a lot. Hey, but that's not important, let's talk about Jimi Hendrix instead. He hasn't got nearly the enough attention he deserves for his mediocre 'songs' and basic guitar playing skills. They should've mentioned Lemmy next and called it a shit list.

The point they made about St. Vincent using fuzz guitar in a pop context is valid, though.

Personally I missed Jesus and Mary Chain / the Reid brothers - the most extreme use of fuzz I can think of in the sort of music I listen to, and they definitely _defined_ fuzz guitar for a whole generation of indie bands that came after, along with J Mascis.

What's all the fuzz about? :hihi:

Post

Obviously fuzz was ”invented” at the same time as the electric string instrument saw the daylight.

How to use distortion, is an other story.

Many have enrolled in as innovators - even John Lennon, among others, in making of I feel fine.

For me the real innovator has always been Hendrix.

Someone accused someone else of distorting the facts, and now they're making a lot of noise about it.

You’ll get some good feedback of these statements.

Yeah sorry but the ACTUAL title of this "list" is:

"Pioneers of fuzz: 13 guitarists who defined the fuzz pedal"

For some reason the OP "forgot" to include the "Pioneers of Fuzz" part.
some of the people on this list where in diapers when fuzz was being
pioneered.

Yeah, metal without fuzz sucked, where metal with fuzz blows. Little known fact.

Jimi's place in music history is assured, metal is a sub-genre at best (pretty much the only people who can stand to listen to it are the ones who play it).
