A Note to Devs That Force You to Install Every Plugin

back in the day, how do i say it politely, i wasn't always on the, ahem, legal side of things, so i preferred single-plugin installers because it allowed me to track latest "working" versions separately, and always stay "up to date". these days, since i no longer have to chase "working" versions and get latest updates directly from developer, i prefer "all in one" installers because it allows me to update things in one go and not micromanage plugin updates, and actually find separate installers annoying.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

No, you can't if you want to use the VST3 version, as all the plugins in the package (Zebra2, Zebralette, Zebrify...) share the same .vst3 binary. You have to use your host to hide the plugins you don't want. Not the best solution.chk071 wrote: Tue Jul 28, 2020 4:41 pm You simply uninstall u-he's plugins by removing them from the respective folders where you installed them (that'll be your custom VST2 folder, and C:\ProgramFiles\Common Files\VST3 for the VST3). So, you can just remove Zebra once you installed Zebralette.

yeah but it doesn't say on the Zebralette download page that Zebra trial version is included in the Zebralette download. those are two very different things.e@rs wrote: Wed Jul 29, 2020 11:23 amI actually do. I also own NI hardware.
It says right at the top on the Zebralette page:wetdentist wrote: Tue Jul 28, 2020 4:37 pm nowhere on the Zebralette page does it say that with your download, you will also get a trial version of Zebra...
Zebralette is included with the Zebra2 download and is installed at the same time.

True. I guess you can just use the VST2 then, and nevermind the VST3 files.Sahul wrote: Wed Jul 29, 2020 11:56 amNo, you can't if you want to use the VST3 version, as all the plugins in the package (Zebra2, Zebralette, Zebrify...) share the same .vst3 binary. Anyway, I never used Zebralette much.

What Zebralette download, man? There ain't such thing and never was. Only Zebra 2 trial that also contains Zebralette.wetdentist wrote: Wed Jul 29, 2020 12:51 pm yeah but it doesn't say on the Zebralette download page that Zebra trial version is included in the Zebralette download.
At this point I'm tired of arguing. You banned U-He from your life? Your loss imho.

Not sure what you mean. I just linked to a page where you can download Zebralette (which downloads the whole Zebra package, obviously). So, what wetdentist wrote is correct (that there is a Zebralette download page).

In fairness:
1. I don't think the separate download page was always there, I only saw it yesterday....(probably was only there sometime in the last year I imagine)
2. Indeed when it says:

It does give the impression that from this page you are possibly only getting Zebralette."Zebralette is included with the Zebra2 download and is installed at the same time."

Who said that there wasn't a Zebralette download webpage? I said there isn't and never was a separate download (setup) for Zebralette.chk071 wrote: Wed Jul 29, 2020 2:00 pm Not sure what you mean. He ended his sentence with in the Zebralette download. Do you see any webpage mentioned there? He referred to the setup.

Well, let's not argue.
Hardly worth it. Wetdentist didn't know that the Zebralette download contained the full Zebra, and that's it. Nothing to be angry about really.
