As I posted above, I'm addicted to the Juno-106 plugin. It's impossible to make a bad sound with the Juno!

IKR? It's a fantastic bread and butter synth. Insane to me that people don't like it.

When it came out, I owned a Memorymoog and had daily access to a Prophet T-8. And shortly there after an Emulator, and got my own DX-7 as soon as I could.

So yeah, comparitively, I never really considered it for myself as something I would use.

Just a note that the System-8 plugin is available for free from 7/28 thru 8/11. New presets as well.

There was an 8 voice Prophet with velocity, release velocity, and poly aftertouch? Wow. Just hearing about that for the first time today. It's like a hardware RePro-5.

The System-8 plugin sounds great. I've downloaded two preset banks, and they don't show up when I click the "patch" button as instructed. How do I load them?

You install them via Roland Cloud, you shouldn’t have to save them anywhere first. Once installed they’ll show up in banks in the preset browser.

When I finished my subscription the System 8 was one of two I kept. Outside of the romplers it has the widest and most varied sound palette with loads of oscillator and filter options. Not a fan of green LEDs though, I wish there were options to change that.

Yes, I installed two banks - Modern System and Synthwave - via Roland Cloud, and RC Manager shows "installed" for both banks. However, they don't show up in the preset browser; only preset banks 1 and 2 show up. I have had no issue installing and loading new preset banks from RC with other Roland plugins.

What platform? Someone on GS just had this same issue.

Ok so for anyone else with the same problem, I found out a solution.

Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Roland Cloud\System-8

Change the extension of the file "System-8_Frontiers.bak" to ".bin" instead of ".bak"

Then it will show up and be fully functional.

Obivously this is a diff sound set but might work.

I never paid attention to the System-8 (both HW and SW) because I found green LEDs so ugly. However, I'm blown away by the S8's sound quality and sonic capabilities. I have been thinking about buying the lifetime keys for the Jupiter-8 and Juno-106 plugins, but I'm not sure now. The S8 seems to be able to create Jupiter and Juno sounds and much more.
