"Sounds Of" is a German web series. Each episode features an artist who gets equipped with a field recorder and then sent to his favourite places to capture some sounds.
Then these sounds are used to create a track on the fly. The recorded sounds are also made publicly available. Everyone can use them freely. Users are also invited to submit their track to be featured on the Soundcloud channel of the makers of the show.
(I'm not personally involved with the show, but I like the project)

Hmm I can't seem to find any agreement or contract on their website. Are these actually royalty free or just "free"? Some cool clean useful SFX is in some of these for sure.

Wow, some cool sounds indeed. It does say "Ihr könnt die Samples hier herunterladen und frei verwenden" in the sample pack descriptions. Which translates to "you can download and use these samples freely."
They invite you to let them know how you use their sounds or send in your own compositions to be published on their soundcloud, in which case they must not contain any third party sounds.
