Are you on Mac or PC?

Years ago (probably still) I had an issue on my mac where I would notice lots of files were showing modified at a specific time... (if I recall around 2 am)......I of course at first wondered if I was being hacked etc.
Turned out to be some backup program I was using or maybe even time machine was modifying times at it read the files to do backups.
But I don't recall file sizes being changed. Then again this was years ago and I may not fully remember.
In my case it turned out to be benign.

Did you have backups of the files in more than one location? If so do all show the same changes?

I have backups. The backups are working. Only the content (my own) which gets loaded from Avenger Expansion Directory was "infected" by this. It was changed to the absolutely same time. 5:32:06 more than 30 presets. the content was just deleted, the filesize was about 8kb instead of 80kb. I could restore all because i always backup my work. But... What the hell was that? :D

Indeed. Hope it is not a virus. You of course have done virus scans?

Interesting.
What Rene said ?

Post

Rene is on vacation.
I think he will respond later. But I have a hint.
I accidentally started an older version of Avenger 1.4. - Maybe it has something to do with it. :o

I have now deleted the old version. Let's hope it never happens again.

So pay attention preset makers. Do not run an older version. It seems that this has a negative impact on your presets.

I recently switched to Studio One 5 and was having lots of audio dropouts, crashes and issues. Eventually found that the culprit was Avenger. Both updated to latest versions but somehow every instance of Avenger in a project jumps to a really high (60 - 100%) cpu usage, even without playing any audio. This makes the whole project have dropouts glitches etc. After removing / freezing all instances of Avenger the problem was immediately solved.

Anyone else having the same issues? I've emailed Rene last Sunday, no reply yet but I now see he's on vacation so will wait for his response.

Something is up with the Avenger activation page - says 'error, service temporary not available. try again later'
A bit annoying as I wanted to have a play with it today!

Does anyone know if there was a blackfriday sale for expansions forAvenger?

Post

There was a BF sale last year. My fingers are crossed for another!

Can't find any info about this function? What does it do? Where in Wavelab can I find it?
Thanks!

Hey guys. I just upgraded my motherboard, processor, GPU, and added some other things. Had to reinstall windows of course. Is there something I need to do with the CM container or the codemeter website to free up the licenses that were linked to my machine with it's old hardware? I gotta be honest, the CM website and containers confuse the hell out of me.

I think you were supposed to do that before the upgrade :(

Yeah. Stupid of me. I tried to deactivate all my online installers before the upgrade but somehow forgot to do Avenger. Any idea what happens when the license expires after the 90 day period? Do I get it back?

This is really the worst part being an honest customer. I have also built a new computer, but in Avenger's case, I knew I had to de-activate the licenses first. Regarding my other licenses (I guess I have in total around 500) I'm currently installing re-installing them all. So far I have reach about 1/3 of all licenses, and 2 developers are refusing to reset my activations.

I think this is garbage tbh, being refused resetting the licenses that you have paid for. Developers have to understand that their licenses is not the only one on earth. It's impossible to remember exactly which licenses you need to de-activate prior to a re-installation, out of 500. This is the only time when I prefer iLok and eLicenser dongles if I'm being honest. Developers must also understand that the hard disk can crash or the computer being stolen as well.

Anyway, sorry for drifting away. As you have 3 licenses in total for Avenger, I guess your won't hit the ceiling now, but in case you do in the future, I think Manuel mentioned (don't take my word for it) that they can help you if you contact the support.
