A trial is never a full version. In the best scenario, it's just a pretender.

Yeah, I hate this. I've avoided IK Media because of this.

I like install managers. Those that present only what I've purchased are best. Not ideal, but I'm OK with Black Rooster's and Plugin Alliance's methods at least giving the option to deselect.

I assume this marketing tactic works or else they wouldn't do it. But I doubt it's worth turning off customers that despise this method.
The groove baby, the groove...

all VSL trials are the full, unrestricted version, for 30 days.

I didn't notice any restriction of Softube Amp Room demo

^
I'm not familiar with Softube. There's nothing to 'force' one to pay that 149E price? I find it hard to believe.

^^
Full functionality for a limited amount of time =/= full version. At least in my book.

well, you need to update your book then, because what's usually referred to as a "full version" is not related to licensing, but rather to whether a full version is a separate download from a trial version. a "trial" that can be activated is by definition a full (i.e. fully functional) version. the license is trial, but not the software.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

^My book updated to v1.01 beta.

Amp Room is $99. It is def the single install, I bought it on the last day of the trial and now it's a regular license.
I had the original 32-bit, sounds like nothing else. Much more to it now. It's the only thing I've bought from them. Uses the soft iLok.

Nuendo trial is 60 days.

Yeah, this is a pet peeve of mine too. I recently downloaded a free plugin from (I forget who, so I don't want to put a wrong company up here) and I assumed I literally was installing just the 1 VST3 version, and when I opened my DAW I had a bunch, wasn't even mentioned in the installed.

This has to stop, I only want what I can use fully. If I want a demo, different story, and I know what I am signing up for.

Such an annoying thing.
Don't trust those with words of weakness, they are the most aggressive

It's the reason why I stay away from IK Multimedia products, even their free ones.

Agree.

Definitely not.
From their multi installer, you are able to choose what software to install. You can build a package.
Also, the single executables are available on their site in your licenses area.
software is a tool that allows us to complete a given task.
social media is full of tools that distract us from a given task.
