It does look good; sadly can't afford Pro edition - I did buy Elements 6 and may well upgrade at £25 to Elements 7. Might even get some (more) use out of it, if the Noise Reduction and selection tools have been improved. Was getting mixed results with 6.
Will definitely run a Trial of Pro when released... (about a month away...)

“This AI-assisted process in SpectraLayers Pro scans the finished file of a song, allowing you to ‘unmix’ it and extract the different instruments to separate layers, with default settings for vocals, piano, bass, drums, and more.”
Is this proprietary, or is it based on Spleeter?

Good question... Dunno... Hit n Mix Infinity uses Spleeter, doesn't it..?
For interests sake, I did read that the main man (Robin Lobel), writing on the SB forum, talked about how hard the (his.?) AI process was in 'deep learning' the spectral signatures of say guitar or flute - so hard, results couldn't be relied on. And so expansion of this 'unmix' facility to include more instruments (sounds.?) is unlikely in the short term...

VST3 implementation seems abysmal
With Melda plugins it won't adjust the window size so the plugin gets cut off and it gets even weirder beyond that.
DDMF Metaplugin makes it crash big time.
Unfiltered Audio stuff has no GUI.
Toneboosters stuff GUI is tiny in a corner.
Melodyne also shows up as a tiny GUI that doesn't change.
Terrible!

Good to know. FWIW the UNMIXing seems to work really well though I feel like separating to Piano, Vocals, Drums, Bass is a bit limiting. Could be worth getting the AI to chew through some other instrument families and have a check box to help it focus on what to look for.Robin Lobel wrote: Tue Aug 04, 2020 11:39 am The VST3 issues are fixed in the first patch coming next week.
My 2 cents.

I will buy if not crash prone, which made v4 unusable. Cheapest option for me is via samplitude pro upgrade

i tried 2 vst3, waves trueverb, worked, but tsar-1 (the biggy) the spectral visualisation disappears and no sound while previewing...Robin Lobel wrote: Tue Aug 04, 2020 11:39 am The VST3 issues are fixed in the first patch coming next week.
EDIT: and while applaying, the layer in question or selection, will become almost empty, now tested: brainworx digital_v3, softube tsar-1, IK multimedia CRS plate.

Unfortunately you can't change the parameters of the VST3 effects in mealtime.
Hmmm.
