Maybe next time Arturia ask people who actually know their products and use them regulary (long-time customers maybe? *cough*) Crazy idea i know..

The benefit is that Arturia doesn't need to give away software for free in exchange because the reviewer already own it. It's surely less expensive for them.. ;-)

In any case: This deal was a very lame decision from Arturia in my eyes. I must say i'm a bit disappointed that a company like Arturia act that stupid. We see what happened here: The guy hardly found time to use it and wrote a review because his license gonna expire. So we have a laughable review not worth to mention and a thread where Arturia customers suddenly see this company in another light. At least i do.

Well, IMO, it's a shitty useless review. He doesn't know how to write properly. He just haphazardly scrapped together the minimum amount of words to try to get a free license. It sure as hell doesn't read like he used the products much. But you be the judge.[1]

BTW.. no one is ganging up on him. I was curious to see what sort of review is required to get a freebie. If you are going to post your writing publicly, it's feasible to assume you may also get feedback on any errors or bad writing.

"One thing I would like to see in a future upgrade is for Arturia to offer every aspect of every synth as a eurorack style module, allowing everything in the collection to interact more easily and hopefully, by then, i'll have turned my head more towards the modular approach."

Good god. What sort of ingredients are they putting in the LSD that he is getting in that little village where he is? How exactly are you going to turn an emulation of using a DX7 vintage synth into a eurorack? Don't quit your day job.

Simoon says that Arturia approached him.
What I want to know is why.

Did they pick his name out of a hat?

The whole arrangement seems odd.
Giving a well known youTube reviewer some software to review is standard. It makes sense.
Giving some random guy on KVR a license to write a random review in the KVR product section seems totally nuts. No one even reads those.

I really want to know the backstory now.

it doesn't matter. "your review was shit anyway" is not a counter to anything the OP said and is entirely irrelevant.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

Yeah, I was actually curious about that, although their account is quite old, they're not exactly a heavy duty poster, and they seem to have vanished from here multiple times for years at a time.
But then astroturfing is supposed to be stealthy.

Yeah, how do I get on this gravy train? I’m good at writing in short soundbites that’ll look good underneath an image on your website, I will lie if required, and I’ll stick to the NDA.

Agreed. This was very disappointing for me to see too. I thought Arturia was a lot more professional than this. Very embarrassing all around.

Words are worth very little in a situation where a company asks a customer to write a review regarded to their products here. A bit hideous procedure of promotion IMO.

Apparently, that was not enough. See, we are now experiencing the sequel. The customer, shrewd as they think they were, waited patiently until their licence had almost expired and then wrote a review. Took the subject to its very limit. Almost.

Arturia's reaction was like: "do we look like we give effort?" Human, all too human. My 2c.
