i think the post is too vague. i would recommend, remove the shortcut to the libraries. remove any software you dont need. initiate the upgrade and then re-add the shortcut(s). make sure you have enough free space on the main C: drive volume to accommodate the in place upgrade

I've heard that people had issues upgrading from Win7 to Win10 if they have a mklink's to a 2nd HDD.

There seem to be issues indeed, but there are too many variables here and posters don't provide enough information to base any conclusion on.
Safest option is to unlink prior to upgrade, then redo the symlinks afterwards.

I wonder what the worst that could happen is?
Like I have my Desktop, Downloads, and then large sample libraries are mklink on my 2 HDD.
However I have a Desktop & Downloads on C: too.

like other have said I'd undo the junctions, and then after the upgrade redirect documents/download properly - there's no need to muck about with junctions, there's properly supported registry keys to redirect those folders : https://support.microsoft.com/en-nz/hel ... nts-folderdjmino02 wrote: Fri Aug 21, 2020 3:02 pm I wonder what the worst that could happen is?
