I've got a question about reverb/delay units and since Meris has both Eurorack versions in additions to pedal, I thought it'd be a good question to ask here...
I want to have a flexible delay and reverb choice on my pedalboard for use with synths and guitars and right now I'm looking at getting the following:
Meris Polymoon
Meris Mercury7
These seem to do all that I want in a pedal, but does anyone know of any drawbacks with using these? I'm learning that the majority of hardware demo videos online seem to be lovefests more than anything critical.

You said that a scenario won't work with a digital mixer, I replied that I can do it with my digital mixer without an issue. Ahh fuckit. what's the point. Carry on.

the only "drawback" if it can be called that, imo, is they dont really do basic rev or delay. they are quite special sounding at all times, but man, that reverb is a beauty, been on the list for a while and meris stuff is built like tanks, i have the ottobit jr. and great quality too, but again not so generic, so if you are looking for that, maybe not the best choiceelxsound wrote: Wed Aug 19, 2020 1:36 pm I've got a question about reverb/delay units and since Meris has both Eurorack versions in additions to pedal, I thought it'd be a good question to ask here...

yeah, if theyd been euro, the reverb would be on the rack already
only thing thats held the pedal back is im fond of reverb pre fuzz on the guitar, and its a bit huge for that...
or is it?

Ah, I missed that they were 500 series. I just assumed they were Eurorack!pekbro wrote: Wed Aug 19, 2020 3:26 pm Meris Eurorack, damn I got excited. Though pedals and 500 series stuff scare me a bit
for the pokemon aspect.

For Mercury7, I saw a video where they pulled off a convincing room verb using the lo/hi frequency knobs for shaping, but honestly it’s all the extra sounds it can pull off that grabbed my attention.vurt wrote: Wed Aug 19, 2020 2:17 pmthe only "drawback" if it can be called that, imo, is they dont really do basic rev or delay. they are quite special sounding at all times, but man, that reverb is a beauty, been on the list for a while and meris stuff is built like tanks, i have the ottobit jr. and great quality too, but again not so generic, so if you are looking for that, maybe not the best choiceelxsound wrote: Wed Aug 19, 2020 1:36 pm I've got a question about reverb/delay units and since Meris has both Eurorack versions in additions to pedal, I thought it'd be a good question to ask here...

I’ll have to do some more digging for verb but I had already ruled out the nuenaber reverb pedal, and I’m not convinced with Red Panda’s Context 2. I’m scared of the price for the new Chase Bliss partnership with Meris. It’s yet another Lexicon 224 but with motorized faders, and multiple presets plus again... huge price tag that’s not released yet.
I think Polymoon will work. I have a basic delay built into the Dark Side and an even more basic delay built into MOOD.

Got it. Yeah there’s that.
I’m narrowing down my selection (already sold 3) and hoping to clean it up more soon. Yeah, I’m probably lying to myself in the long run but I think I’ll have a decent synth/guitar rig with the following:
Keeley Super Phat (OD)
Keeley Dark Side (Pink Floyd multi)
Keeley Monterrey (Hendrix multi)
Chase Bliss Warped Vinyl HiDi (chorus)
Chase Bliss MOOD
Chase Bliss Blooper
Meris Polymoon
Meris Mercury7
And maybe Meris Otto Jr (for added fun)
It mostly depends on whether I can tame Mercury7 I think

but other good ones to look at might be strymon, the big sky has a few more basic bits but also has some beautiful and quite unique algos, the choral shimmer is lush as f**k!
less expensive and still fun, earthquaker devices transmisser and afterneath are nice. as guitar pedals though, only mono if thats an issue.

dunno if ypu watch nick and juan on pedals and effects?
their ottobit demo vid had me scrabbling for my card details.
their enzo video is funny though, for the part where juan "shit in a bin"
not really, his cool as feck accent makes "i shouldnt have been" "i shit in a bin"
i like those two, they seem like my kind of artists/musos, excited about new stuff and always trying to see what it can do!!! no "heres a lovely delay sound" demos.
