Perhaps Softube has succumbed to Covid-19. Softube Central is buggy, tech support is MIA and there is no indication anything is being done to resolve these issues . At the very least they could send out an email or post a message on their website to address these bugs. It's not an isolated case.

At least it's not an isolated issue. It seems pretty widespread, and happening across various DAWS - Cakewalk, Reaper, Cubase and FL Studio from what I can tell

They need to get their act together. I have invested a lot of Money into softube, and although they sound great, this is a total nightmare. I'm midway through mixing an album and an EP and I'm stuck.

Thankfully Console 1 still works fine and I'm guessing that's because it's GUI is different than their other plugins. I can open American Class A and the Summit Audio Grand Channel within C1 and it works. Standalone = crash

It must be a GUI thing. My projects are covered in TSAR-1R, Drawmer s73 and Tape, and they run fine until I try to open any instance of the plugin.

I believe it's a long-standing OpenGL renderer issue they've never properly addressed. Add Bitwig & Live to your list. No problems with any other vendor's software.

Yeah after reading this thread and others it certainly seems that way. Same here, everything else is fine. I updated to Windows 2004 on my laptop and the problem persists there, so that's two versions of Win10, across multiple DAWs experiencing the same errors.

If I start getting these errors with Console 1 I'll seriously consider saying bye to Softube. People can't work like this, especially with plugins at a premium price point.

Couldn't agree more, and to add insult to injury, their support/damage control dept appears to be out to lunch.

what is the common denominator?

i have softube on 2 systems, an i7-6700k, 32gb, gtx 1060 6gb (studio driver, only) (self-built), win 10 pro 2004.
a i7-9750H, 16gb, intel HD630 + gtx 1050 4gb (game driver, only), win 10 home 2004.

no problems in bitwig studio 3.2.x, reaper 6.x, cubase pro 10.5.20, ableton live 10.1.8 suite. (except when i load a vermona module in softube modular, ableton goes crashes.. in cubase and reaper it is erratic behavior, only with this module).

reason 11 suite works also ok.

opening GUI's, closing, working with them, no prob. openGL on. tsar-1 (and tsar-1r), heartbeat, softube modular (only the vermona module gives trouble), passive/active pack, fet compressor, tube delay, saturation knob, drawmers s37 (the small one..).

(perhaps not important info: on both system, i have a dongle, yes 2... and licenses are stored on the iLok dongles..)

is it isolated to some products? or is it amd with softube, or amd and windows 2004??
if it happens also on similar intel systems, i have.

i didn't install via softube central, used the seperate installers. because softube central wouldn't stop....

i hope this can help a bit. i don't know. support is mostly very responsive, but lately....

latest iLok version? there is a new softube central, of course auto update didn't work, until i started it again with administrator rights. it also installs PACE, a part of the iLok system, i believe, not pretty behavior, but nothing went wrong.

Interesting. So that rules out GPU specific issues. I'm still inclined to believe it's OpenGL renderer related.

I finally received a response from Softube support. I was advised to download and run an "installer helper" and reinstall everything. You can probably guess the outcome.

do people who have problems use the soft iLok?

are there any people who have no problems?

(although i just experienced a strange crash in bitwig studio 3.2.7 while changing my own presets, to find the ones with vermona modules, me thinks they are only on my laptop, no.. first time i really used in bitwig shall test more.)

(EDIT: modular is prone to crashes it seems, didn't use modular for a while, but i was already on 2004 me thinks. or i switch to quickly, but that must not be problem. or for a while, i did MPE experiments. so, strange.)

(EDIT 2: virusscanner? seems strange, has lead at one time that i couldn't use any DAW, i disabled while troubleshooting, but never deinstalled it, after a time i deinstalled, problems gone.)

I've never had an issue with soft iLok nor Modular crashing, although I did experience glitching and instability in the past, but suddenly it was fine for several months until now. BWS 3.2.7 has been stable for me unless I attempt to load Modular. I tried disabling virus scanning too. Interestingly, I can load a preexisting project with Modular and as long as I don't attempt to load the GUI it runs, but obviously I can't modify anything, which again leads me to believe it's an OpenGL prob.

softube modular seems instable in my case. softube modular has had its problems, never solved. vermona module, long loading time.

i can load softube modular in bitwig studio 3.2.7 with the GUI open, and change things. only when changing presets (too fast??) it becomes unstable. also in reaper. do not try all my daw's..

i already have a ticket open, about the vermona module, i shall add: instability. and mention also the problems mentioned here... but all the other plugins i have, mentioned in a previous posts, are stable.

Alchemedia, I got a response from Softube support, and the fix actually worked.

Please go to the following location on your PC:
C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Roaming\Softube
Remove all txt files in that folder

'AppData' is a hidden folder so it might not show up be default. You can make it appear bu clicking 'Hidden Items' on the 'View' tab.

Let me know how you get on. Everything seems back to normal for me now.
