I got Convology XT Complete as part of the Samplitude X5 Pro Suite
https://impulserecord.com/project/convo ... -complete/
Is it worth downloading and installing?
Can it qualify as one of the best reverbs?

On the subject of convolution. Best Service's "Hall of Fame" convo plugin with Bricasti impulses is pretty fantastic. Limited tweakability but the underlying sound is top notch. I'm a big LiquidSonics fan but haven't delved into Reverberate - maybe I should.

Never see HOFA Algoverb mentioned but it seems to meet OP's request for a "versatile" reverb. Anyone use it and have an opinion? I know some of their UIs are minimal but Algoverb at first glance appears to be rather clear interface to intuit.

It pretty much always sounds incredible, no matter what its on. Its only $50, and its been used on countless professional releases. If they increased the price to $400, people would still buy it because it SOUNDS that good, and it might even be more loved by some of the cork-sniffers out there at that point, just because if it costs more, its obviously a more refined and well-rounded product![]()
But hey, he loves this noisy, dirty thing so much that he acts as unpaid product ambassador. Why not?

I think it's really unspectacular and really versatile and really good.kidslow wrote: Wed Aug 19, 2020 9:49 pm Never see HOFA Algoverb mentioned but it seems to meet OP's request for a "versatile" reverb. I also love how the GUI shows you exactly what you're doing for most of the parameters.

The way I read it he was exaggerating in order to make a point.chk071 wrote: Wed Aug 19, 2020 3:38 pm Fair enough.I doubt that it'd be equally popular with a $400 price tag though.

I'm having immense fun with AriesVerb. It's so ridiculously flexible and fun to explore.
Here are a few examples of presets I've created in the past few days.
AriesVerb, a few examples
First a few bars of the original dry signal, then I start switching through presets for the next 3 minutes. Delay line is part of the original audio. It helps to hear the spatialization.

I said it and I’ll say it again. Even though I’ve got some 50 reverb plugins, you won’t be able to make me surrender my FabFilter Pro-R nor my Zynaptiq Adaptiverb.

Pro-R was a disappointment for me. I just don't feel it. Slap on Blackhole and I FEEL it. Maybe it's a modulation thing and just how I love spacey verbs in general (but I love realistic spaces too). I really want Fabfilter to blow away the competition - sadly they did not. I utterly love Pro-C though and most people don't.

To me Pro-R is completely irreplaceable as a realistic small-medium rooms reverb, something blackhole can't even attempt without sounding like a metal tank! Maybe you want Pro-R to be something it wasn't designed to be?MogwaiBoy wrote: Thu Aug 20, 2020 2:13 am Pro-R was a disappointment for me. I just don't feel it. Slap on Blackhole and I FEEL it. Valid argument. Blackhole can't do realism at ALL, that's for sure. I need to give Pro-R another chance. I thought the EQ-style interface was a brilliant innovation but in practice it didn't really change that much (I guess frequency-dependent decay control is still quite unique).
In terms of realistic spaces though I love CRTIV Reverb 2 and LiquidSonics stuff. Have you tried the Voxengo?

Is Adele's "Hello" produced by Greg Kurstin a professional enough use of VVV for you?chk071 wrote: Wed Aug 19, 2020 10:03 amNonsense. "I have SoundShifter on the piano to pitch it down a half step. We wrote the song higher and changed the key, but I liked the piano sound and didn’t want to replay it. I sampled my Roland TR-808 kick drum into the EXS24 and used that in the chorus to double the bass. Valhalla’s VintageVerb is on the guitar single-note stuff. I filtered the drums with the Logic AutoFilter. I used SPL Transient Designer to shorten the length and add attack on those drums. And there’s a little bit of Sylenth1 playing a sine-wave, organ-like pad under the chorus."
