Is it correct though, has anybody here compared them properly?v1o wrote: Thu Jul 23, 2020 4:06 pm On GS someone said they are getting better results than Autotune with this. If that's correct then this is a steal even at full price.

Autotune access has a tiny bit (couple to couple of ten samples) less processing delay.
However crispy is much more tweakable and its easier to taylor a specific sound from it.
I also think autotune is a bit more selective with tracking. However in mixes i use crispy instead of autotune consistenly - also for studio tracking.
For live i still use antares.

I'm hesitant about buying because i've been reading that the dev is worryingly unresponsive and seems to have vanished, so it seems risky buying a product that may be unusable after Apple f**k shit up for everyone again.

CrispyTuner ONLY has mono support, and the CrispyTuner developer pretty much confirmed to me that CrispyTuner will never get stereo support.
it's weird, because ALL of the other Monophonic Real-Time Auto-Tune VST's on the market have stereo support.
I am just letting everyone know about this, just in case that you need stereo support for your mixes, songs, etc and you're unaware of CrispyTuner ONLY having mono support.
This is the response from the CrispyTuner developer about why CrispyTuner ONLY has mono support, and why it doesn't have stereo support.

CrushedPixel wrote:Hey, this is expected behaviour - the CrispyTuner takes the sum of all input channels and then applies the effect. This is the same behaviour as that of comparable software (such as Waves Tune Real-Time). This is required because the pitch correction algorithm used only works on monophonic signals, which a stereo signal isn't.
The only real option you have would be to tune both channels individually (like a dual-mono effect), but in general that's not desirable.
Why do you need to tune a stereo file in first place?

Please don’t bother to PM me with your problems about a product, I’m really not interested. Just keep it to the forum, ok.
I see you’re bitching over at gearslutz too, maybe just pick one, instead of spamming all the forums with your problem.
Good luck with your stereo quest!

Where is your problem, split your stereo file to left and right and apply CrispyTuner seperatly to them.Warped Effect wrote: Thu Aug 20, 2020 2:05 pm CrispyTuner ONLY has mono support, and the CrispyTuner developer pretty much confirmed to me that CrispyTuner will never get stereo support.

Crispytuner users will get it free and it being under Bx may allow for ARA support which wasn't going to be possible otherwise due the size of the effort according to the developer on Gearslutz.Ploki wrote: Tue Oct 13, 2020 12:48 pm well apparently this was acquired by Brainworx.

According the developer, ARA wasn't going to be possible with him alone, so may is better than definitely not.Ploki wrote: Tue Oct 13, 2020 1:49 pmMay allow. Here's the post in full for those who haven't seen it:
CrushedPixel wrote:As you guys have noticed, I haven't been incredibly active recently when it comes to developing CrispyTuner updates and bugfixes.
This has several reasons, some of which personal, but I've come to the conclusion that I can't hold promises like ARA2 support without increasing the size of the development team.
I was exploring potential solutions to the issue, as I was contacted by Dirk Ulrich, founder of Plugin Alliance and Brainworx Audio, who read about the CrispyTuner on Facebook.
Long story short: the CrispyTuner and its underlying technology have been acquired by Brainworx Audio!
Most of you probably know Brainworx for their hardware emulation plugins, such bx_digital, bx_masterdesk and the bx_console series.
With this acquisition, they're going to develop their own pitch correction plug-in, releasing it on Plugin Alliance.
They are also in the process of developing a complete vocal mixing suite with the CrispyTuner technology at its core.
After meeting the Brainworx team in their Leverkusen offices, I can confidently say that my "baby" is in the right hands!
I'm super excited to see the plugin(s) they create based on the CrispyTuner, and so should you,
as owners of a CrispyTuner license will get the Brainworx pitch correction plugin for free!
What does this mean for license holders?
Nothing changes for you unless you want it to - existing customers will still be able to download and use the CrispyTuner as usual,
the license servers will stay online. We'll also keep providing e-mail support for any questions you might have!
On top of that, you'll get the Brainworx plugin for free, so you've basically scored 2 pitch correction plugins for the price of 1 cooge
We'll send out e-mails as soon as the Brainworx plugin is available, with instructions how you can claim your free copy.
Finally, I want to sincerely thank everyone on this forum for their honest feedback and criticism -
you've given valuable insights that helped make the CrispyTuner the plugin it is today!
If you have any questions regarding this acquisition, please let me know -
I want to be as transparent as possible, as customer satisfaction has always been my primary goal.
