Could you be more specific as to how and in what it is misleading?

Actually it used to be "Complete list of all good COMMERCIAL sample lib (and virtual instrument) producers" but a mod has shortened it.

EDIT: In fact, I went ahead and changed it from
"Complete list of all good COMMERCIAL sample producers"
to
"List of all known COMMERCIAL sample-lib / virtual-instrument producers"

Might reflect the reality more closely.

A list of a zillion url's to websites without much context. Oh great, now what :help:
The first real link to 16steps.co.uk is dead. Who is checking all the other ones?
Somewhere halfway it lists Korg, at the bottom Yamaha. Their websites are big with a zillion products, you drown in it. And it changes structure every year. Where / how do I find the sample libs / instruments they make?
In the intro you say no resellers. Then why does it have eBay on the bottom?

You see how futile it is?

indeed, a link to the relevant part of the site would be a better option, not just a generic link... you may as well just put google.com

Why do you only add? There are dead links that need cleaning up!

I personally don't have time to go through the hundreds of links again and again. Nobody pays me for this. Feel free to report broken links and I will remove them. :)

It's not my list. I said before I think the list itself is useless.
I was just reporting back to you the very first link in the list is dead.
Do whatever you please with the feedback.

The list may be useless to you, but it has been very useful to me and apparently to the other people who found it useful and who've thanked me in this thread throughout the years.

Only a troll would claim that a list with hundreds of links is "useless" because of a few broken links. And only a troll would say the list had already been useless to him before anyway, and then (instead of leaving the thread alone) continue posting shit about it to the thread. In other words, keep trolling. So believe me, I couldn't care less if it's useless to you. To me, you're just another random troll to ignore, which I will do from now on. :)

Excellent thread!

Could we be included too - we're opening today so do only have a freebie on our site at the moment but will be releasing our first paid product next week and more in the coming months. All of our upcoming libraries focus on niche ways of sampling the cello.
