What is Intel AVX?

Fathom Vector has been over a year in development and includes everything in Fathom Synth Pro + Intel AVX Parallel Processing + the new Metamorphic Oscillator and the new 16 Channel Modulated Digital Delay.
Instructions for the upgrade path for existing users can be found here:
https://www.fathomsynth.com/avx
This is a major development so we will start a new thread for it.
The Metamorphic Oscillator is one of the most advanced oscillators ever created in a software synthesizer and consists of over 16 pages of parameters in one oscillator (shown above).
Features include:
Intel AVX Parallel Processing.
Free hand wavedraw.
Bezier curve wavedraw.
Double waveform morphing.
128 partial spectrum with Bezier curve.
All the normal parameters such as pan, pitch, cctave and fine tune.
Advanced shape processing including shift, expand, pulse width, overdrive and multiply.
Partials increased from 400 to 500 over Fathom Pro.
8 Detune voices with built in chorus and phase on each voice.
Nonlinear detune modulation.
Advanced phase control with three different kinds of phasing per detune voice.
Double partials modulation.
Spectrum high and low balance.
Harmonics odd/even/fundamental.
Double impulse function with built in phase, shift, direction and period controls.
Voltage ripple function with five algorithms, frequency, shift, expand, acceleration and multiply.
Chop function with depth, width, frequency, direction, shape, shift, compress and phase.
AM/FM modulation with tonal FM.
Noise oscillator with frequency, range, offset, shape, note track, threads and built in filter.
Built in frequency distortion both harmonic and random with phase drift, multiple ratios, threads.
Built in Guassian filter with cutoff, resonance, pass band, slope, width, quality and keytrack.
Load and save user waveforms.
Load and save Serum format waveforms.
Skip cycle processing on all the pages listed above.
All parameters listed and all dials modulat-able in realtime.
Realtime oscillator graphs on all pages of the oscillator.
Skip cycle processing allows you to apply parameters ever other wave cycle giving you the power to create unique low frequency content without losing tonality.
The Trance Warehouse Bank has also been released (225 Presets).

Sheesh! What a complex task to 'upgrade' to Vector 3.0

Where is the installer - I can't find it. I just seem to end up going into a rabbit hole of information without a link to the installer.

I moved out of my old ISP's service area so lost access to my old email account. Guess I'm just out of luck.
Oh well moving on.....

Installed fine and running fine in linux, enjoying the very fine
Trance Warehouse soundset. Fine
Fine
fine
For a year of intense and successful developement, I gladly worked out a few dance-steps to complete the reg. Patience well rewarded! Some may have a valid Fathom password in your email history, you'll be prompted for the password when opening the new Fathom archive. Worth a history check...

Just came to say hello...and congratulations for the release. Unfortunately I have many not-audio-related expenses at the moment, but someday...

Can we get some clarity on whether Vector runs on OS X? I get that the AVX parallel processing is only in the Windows version - though it takes a bit of digging to get to that point - but is the metamorphic oscillator supported only on Windows or is that cross-platform?
As the synth's name is "Vector", AVX seems to be pretty important but it's far from clear what runs on what.

Okay, after installing, there are 4 different .dlls: Fathom.dll, FathomAVX1.dll, FathomVector.dll, and FathomVectorMT.dll. Which one of these should I be running in my DAW?

Exactly. This is confusing as hell. Please, please get everything more streamlined for the new product.willsavino wrote: Fri Aug 21, 2020 1:21 pm Okay, after installing, there are 4 different .dlls: Fathom.dll, FathomAVX1.dll, FathomVector.dll, and FathomVectorMT.dll. Good question.
Unfortunately Intel AVX Parallel Processing will not compile for the Mac OSX.
Theoretically it should be possible but my XCode compiler will not do it.
So for now there is no AVX for Mac, Sorry!
The metamorphic oscillator and all other vector features are not OS dependent.
So all those features will run regardless of whether or not you are on Windows or Mac.
What runs on what?
All Fathom Vector features run on everything except on the Mac there is no Intel AVX.
The Pro AVX release is a special build just for existing customers who want to upgrade from Fathom Pro to Fathom Pro with parallel processing as promised for years without having to spend any money on all the new Vector features.
Since the only difference between Fathom Pro and Fathom Pro AVX is Intel AVX which will not run on the Mac, obviously installing Fathom Pro AVX on the Mac would be completely pointless.
Folks, those of you who know me know I am always willing to admit mistakes and correct them. If anyone has specific suggestions on how the wording of the instructions can be improved then I'm all ears and can make changes to both the web site and documentation in seconds. But you must be specific otherwise I can't change it.
That being said, the process itself must stay as is.
1. Basically, if you already have Fathom Pro you get Fathom Pro AVX for free and you just need to email me and ask me for the AVX release download.
2. If you want Fathom Vector and you are an existing user who has supported the project you are rewarded by getting a refund for all money every spent on Fathom including upgrades and sound banks. However, to do this you must follow the instructions otherwise I simply have no way to get you your refund.
https://www.fathomsynth.com/avx
3. Fathom Pro does NOT require the installer install.exe. Both Fathom Pro AVX and Fathom Vector require getting a local license by running Install.exe which comes with those releases. Just follow the instructions in Install.pdf.
Don't forget, this complexity is only here in order to give you free stuff and refunds if you have supported us. The purpose is not to make things difficult for anyone. If anyone wants the simplest possible option they are of course welcome to just buy the product without any rebates like you would normally for any other product.
I had to get some sleep, but I'll be going through all the emails now and throughout the day, if you have been waiting patiently for a response.
P.S. There have been an unbelievable number of purchases over the last 24 hours so a huge thank you to everyone who is supporting us!
Edit: Again, I sincerely apologize for any confusion. But general statements do not provide me with any information I can use to change the instructions. If you want the instructions improved you must be specific and say exactly what your question is so I can answer it. Again, if you want simplicity by all means just go buy the product and enjoy.

Apple wants those calls to go through the Accelerate framework because of the planned move to Arm, so it's probably going to stay that way with XCode.FathomSynth wrote: Fri Aug 21, 2020 1:53 pm Unfortunately Intel AVX Parallel Processing will not compile for the Mac OSX.
