I'm looking for a sound recorder for my Android phone when I'm out and I don't have my H2N Zoom recorder with me.

Any recommendations for an easy to use app to capture audio? I don't need to play back or edit on the phone but it would be nice if there was an option to set the bit depth for sampling.

I don't want anything complicated as I need it to be as quick as possible.

Most (if not all) android phones have an app called "voice recorder" preinstalled.
Does what it says on the tin, although the storage format may not be WAV.
So a simple google search for "android record wav" returns this nice page:

@Bert Yes I think my previous devices had a voice recorder but not this one apparently.

I'd seen that page but was hoping for people's input regarding their own experience. I was also hoping for something where I could set the bit depth of sampling but it seems that isn't something that exists.

Basically any recorder app, and maybe grap a microphone. IK multimedia had a decent one if I remember correctly.
