So far 3.0 is solid here. I used to get various pops and noises when modulating certain parameters in version 2 but that's all gone now.
The mod matrix highlight feature is great.
Im really looking forward to trying out the avx feature now.

Might I suggest a comparison chart on the website, showcasing the differences between mono, pro and vector. With new features on top, and clickable for more information on the subject?
In my opinion that would keep potential buyers from asking the same questions.

E.g. https://new.steinberg.net/cubase/compare-editions/

Yes I agree, we desperately need a build compare chart.

I will work on that.

Thanks everyone for reporting success with 3.0 that makes my day.

Word must be spreading because sales are spiking big time.

I have been waiting a long time for this! Thanks for your hard work, Everett! Bought the upgrade and sent you a couple emails just now.

Fathom Vector is not within my purchasing power in the moment, alas, but I hope I can afford it in the future. I wish you great success!

Post

Why not:
Move forward with Vector as THE version of Fathom moving forward. Roll AVX into it as a setting for those that can use it. Then offer an intro price for Vector and a reasonable upgrade path for previous owners, like $20-50. Done.

Oh. That would make it too easy perhaps. :borg:

No sense in employing a ubiquitous process, might as well make your lives more exciting I guess. I don't really understand the rationale for making thing more complicated than they need to be.

Why is there a cubase LE, artist and pro?
I think it’s a smart way to get people to use a product, for the price you are willing to pay.
And when you want more: upgrade.

Is the AVX thingumy AVX1-compatible?
I've got an ancient but still pretty capable i7, so I'm not upgrading my hardware anytime soon.

The Windows zip includes an AVX1 version of Vector.

Post

Ah sorry, I meant Pro. But it's probably in there as well then.

Yes the Vector release also has FathomAVX1 which is exactly the same in all regards except it only uses the AVX Intel instructions instead of AVX2.

AVX1 is only a tiny bit slower, you still get most of the speed beneifts.

And obviously no difference in the other advanced features.

Think I paid $12 for Fathom, the price for vector is a pretty steep increase, hope that works
out as planned. Personally, I am no longer interested in purchasing soft synths either way.
Best of luck with vector, commanding the comparatively high price is not going to be easy.

Whee! I agree with plexus for once. :D

It's not a question of being easy. The price of Fathom Vector is more than fair. This is not a negotiation. If not a single person buys it so be it. And just in case you are curious we have already sold over 10 of them in the first 24 hours it was on the market, and that was the last time I checked four hours ago.

If you think $125 is unreasonable have a look:

$480.00 Omnisphere
$220.00 VPS Avenger
$210.00 Rapid
$200.00 uHe Zebra
$200.00 Thorn
$200.00 Arturia Pigments
$190.00 Spire
$190.00 Serum
$180.00 Dune 3
$180.00 uHe Diva
$150.00 Iris 2
$150.00 Harmor
$150.00 Absynth
$150.00 Hive 2

$25.00 Fathom Pro
$125.00 Fathom Vector
$0.00 Fathom AVX Upgrade !

Hello?

Post

There's only 1 company on that list that I would pay that much for anything, and I did.
even though it took me easily 10 yrs get them all during rare sales.
*Of course that's just me personally, not saying it's not worth the money :tu:

To be honest I stopped buying any software synthesizers myself, so I am somewhat familiar with your viewpoint. Too many of them were a waste of money.

However, there were a few like Serum, Diva and Dune which were worth every penny.
