Yep, this is our newest song.
We spent the last weeks adjusting the balance between
vocals and guitars. Has it turned out moderately well?
We're not sure.
Lyrically there is a special feature here: The song is
about everything and everyone - indeed! You can
listen to the song here:
direct link: http://andy-enroe.bplaced.net/22_songs/ ... _smile.mp3
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On our website the song is enriched with an animation and
further info: "while I watch your smile" <-- this requires
clicking the grey "play"-button.

An upbeat and bouncy song giving off positive vibes. Very well crafted. It holds up well to repeated listens.
The mix is excellent. The vocal / guitar balance sounds right to me.
While the drums are adequate, I think a more dynamic drum performance could raise the energy level considerably.

And yes, I/we will take a closer look at the drum performance
and the drum sound again.

well i enjoyed that. production sounds tight and
the composition was solid. cant think of anything
to critique so i'll just play it again.
btw, i love when a song sneaks a peek of that
great ol hammond B3 sound in it!

Nice upbeat groove. Reminds me somewhat of the B52s vibe.
Wide guitars, good left and right mixing techniques give the track some good width. Especially the intro when the 2nd guitar comes in.
Voice slightly too soft sometimes in the mix - when its fighting with the guitar.
Enjoyable listen, and you have a good unique sound.

Absolutely liked it
A great melancholic song with a good arrangement and great hooklines and singing.
Mix is good and transparent - nothing to worry about for me.
Thanks for sharing

Thank you for listening!
Yes, the Hammond sound helps to reinforce the harmonic function
without being too intrusive. That is why this instrument is - for me -
so important!

And yes, voice and guitar are fighting with each other, but I think
in the newer mix they are much better separated now.

Reminds me a little of The Buzzcocks and I love them. Very enjoyable song.

Sounds good. Nice mix. However, if someone doesn't have good stereo separation the vocals and guitar will fight more for the same space.
Well done!

Ahh, thank you Allomerus!
Yes, the stereo panorama is extremely divided,
should be a lot of fun with headphones!

Thank the Lord it was NOT another of those tuneless noisescape things. Only so much glitchy bum glitchy bum glitchy bum glitchy bum glitchy bum ting ting woop glitchy bum glitchy bum glitchy bum glitchy bum glitchy bum ting ting woop blooch a man can take in one evening.
Each to their own, but they really should carry a health warning.
