If you can't hear the bass, which is there from the start of the track, you need some better monitors ...

Post

The bass is right there. *points at screen*

The lead is a lead... I think. What else is it supposed to be?

Post

Probably in the lower octaves.

I'm hearing it from laptop speakers I can't hear the bass unless I increased the volume , even if I did that it still low sound
why should I have better monitors just to be able to hear a bass in a track ?

it's very very low from laptop speakers

Laptop speakers can't play back bass. At least not if it's below 1 kHz.

Sorry mate, but i'm listening this track with my smartphone and the bass is very clear.
Honestly, I don't think that Jon Hopkins has a problem with mixing skills.

speaker size is relative to the freqs they can produce.
laptops have tiny speakers. therefore cant really produce bass frequencies.

moving the bass up to compensate, would mean its no longer bass on most decent speakers and more lo mid.
