You're welcome. I understand your reluctance, but I can say confidently that if you don't have Massive X yet (either single or part of Komplete 12), I would highly recommend you to jump on this deal if you like how it sounds. If you have Massive, that will be just $99 crossgrade for you. As for Expansions, I personally liked Drive, Scene and Rush from the 6 released so far. I think these 3 Expansions along with factory library presets are plenty (1000+) and cover a lot of ground.zeep wrote: Wed Aug 26, 2020 5:19 pmThanks for the report! I was eyeballing all the Massive X presets but holding back with purchasing. Not really impressed by the demos, but still interested. With all the massive x sounds so far, i think I share your sentiment.. There are awesome sounds but few are really good for everyday projects.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Wed Aug 26, 2020 4:45 pm And so, I ended up buying only the Drive Expansion (at least for now, will only think of others during year end sale).I was just scanning the Massive X library presets and those from Expansions Rush and Scene, which I got earlier, and there's a lot of awesome sounds already available. Although I feel it lacks good bread and butter presets in pads and leads department (quantity wise).
Man, I love how Massive X sounds. My only annoyance is the GUI issues specific to Intel graphics.
As a side note, undo and redo is a must! I hope they consider it for the 1.4 update.

That said, I hope they do add more simple sounds for everyday usage. Perhaps an Expansion dedicated for such presets (e.g. 25 presets in 6 categories). I will try to mention this to their support too.

Thanks. I think we all concur that Drive is the best of the 3 from maximum usability point of view. I agree that $33 is an absolutely fantastic price, but for now, happy with Drive.rezoneight wrote: Thu Aug 27, 2020 1:54 amDrive has some really, really great sounds. Finally listened to all of them. Mechanix and Moebius also have some fabulous sounds I could see using. The three were definitely worth $33 or whatever it was I paid after the e-voucher.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Wed Aug 26, 2020 4:45 pmAnd so, I ended up buying only the Drive Expansion (at least for now, will only think of others during year end sale).zeep wrote: Wed Aug 26, 2020 4:25 pmThis.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Wed Aug 26, 2020 9:25 am ... Ah. OK, thanks rezoneight. I thought you weren't allowed to use their e-vouchers for special offers, so that confused me. I guess they must've made an exception for this offer then?rezoneight wrote: Thu Aug 27, 2020 1:53 am
NI gives out e-vouchers for certain stuff. So I got one for buying a Komplete Kontrol keyboard. Think I got one when I bought Komplete, etc. I had 3 that were worth $25 each.

I wish I was - NI are really shooting themselves in the foot over this - they create such a wonderful sound design wet dream then make it a pain in the ass to share and sell user created banks due to the inability to save anything with a bank name or even tags or provide any organisation to the user tab. Possibly they think people should only buy their own content but that would be dumb - the key to the sustainable success of any plugin is creating an active community of users and sound designers generating and sharing music and presets - not just passive consumers of content.Biome_Digital wrote: Wed Aug 26, 2020 9:54 pm!!! That being said it is worth persevering with - the more people using it and putting pressure on NI to open up the User section the better - my fear would be people losing interest and NI deciding it isn’t worth developing further.

Yeah thats what I thought as well but figured i'd give it a shot and it worked. Was able to get two of the first 3 expansions for about $5 each. Not sure what the rules are. I know they don't allow them during the big sales. Tried that at one point.wltchris101 wrote: Thu Aug 27, 2020 11:08 amAh. OK, thanks rezoneight. Yeah, I was talking about Drive being the best from the latest three.
From previous 3, I agree, Scene is the best, followed by Rush.

Surprisingly, the e-voucher is working on the Expansion bundle this time around as well as the crossgrade offer from Massive to Massive X + Expansions. But only this crossgrade; it is still not working on any other updates/upgrades/crossgrades right now, as usual.rezoneight wrote: Thu Aug 27, 2020 1:33 pmYeah thats what I thought as well but figured i'd give it a shot and it worked. Typically, e-voucher does not work on crossgrades, and I think last time (IIRC) it did not work on the Expansion bundle too.

It is likely, because I favourited only under 50 presets out of 150 from the previous two Expansions. Others might get used only in "trial and error / happy accidents" cases.Vortifex wrote: Thu Aug 27, 2020 12:43 pm I am tempted by the offer for the 3 new preset collections but hesitant in case half of them are unusable.
If you like two of the three A LOT, it's simple - go for the bundle. If not, just get one for $29. Save $29 for later.
I personally think there won't be another set of Massive X Expansions until at least December (considering they did the first set in April and 4 months later in August, the second set). My guess is the next drop will be in Jan/Feb 2021 after the year end gifts.

I always look at preset packs as part useable sounds and part just learning how an instrument works. Even with the "unusable" sounds there is something to be gained.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Thu Aug 27, 2020 1:50 pmIt is likely, because I favourited only under 50 presets out of 150 from the previous two Expansions. Its not like I can organize their purchased sound sets either. Even as a passive consumer of their content, their browser is like the worst in recent memory.aMUSEd wrote: Thu Aug 27, 2020 11:13 amI wish I was - NI are really shooting themselves in the foot over this - they create such a wonderful sound design wet dream then make it a pain in the ass to share and sell user created banks due to the inability to save anything with a bank name or even tags or provide any organisation to the user tab. For me it is not worth persevering with. The only reason I haven't sold it is because I got it as part of Komplete. The development pace is so slow that it would be at least a decade before it addressed some of the many unacceptable limitations. I doubt they ever will, so it is just in the junk pile for me. NI has forgotten how to make a complete plugin (pun intended)

Did anyone have this issue, or is it only me? I tried to rescan the whole preset folder but nothing changed, it still scans each preset in the user content library each time i load it into a DAW.recursive one wrote: Wed Aug 26, 2020 10:44 pm I downloaded some free presets over here and put them into user content/presets directory. Now each time I load Massive X it scans all these presets which takes about 2 minutes.
Is there any way to scan them one time so that MX would remember them and never scan again? It kinda sucks to wait 2 minutes each time i want to use MX.
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try
