Hi,
Working now with 3.9b32.
In the Phrase Editor (PE), when I make a change in the Voicing (e.g. change it to Drop 2), I see the change in notes and spacing in the PE (on the left).
Then if I click on 'Apply Changes to Phrase in Composition' I expect a) to see the the new voicing influence the notes that appear when I drag the phrase up/down in the Composition, and b) to see the Phrase now to be set to Drop 2 the next time I open it in the PE.
I am seeing neither a) nor b). It is as if 'Apply Changes to Phrase in Composition' has no effect at all.

Hi.
When assigning a Keyboard Shortcut that already exists, i get the message 'Global shortcut already exists in same focus group!'.
OK, great. However, the assignment takes place anyway, which makes no sense to me.
Why wouldn't the assignment be declined unless/until the user removes the previous assignment?

Hi,
It seems the help text and the button label are in disagreement.
Apply Changes to ? (Composition or Library?)

try this... double click a phrase in the library, not the composition. The label (on the apply button) will say "Apply to Library". Now double click a phrase in the composition. The label changes to say "Apply to Composition". that is all that means..sj1 wrote: Wed Aug 26, 2020 1:52 pm Hi,

OK, the button label tracks the actual target. That's good.BluGenes wrote: Thu Aug 27, 2020 10:04 amtry this... double click a phrase in the library, not the composition. I would only add that I think the Help text should either track also, or else be explicit that the button could have different target outputs. (e.g. "Apply Changes to Phrase in Composition or Library (per the label).")
For the Button and the Help to clearly disagree is the to-be-avoided scenario, IMO.

Can you clarify the double click to zoom? Is this from the structure browser? Time line?
I see no difference if I shift double click or just double click.. That is with both the time line or the structure browser..

You can specify how timeline selection should happen when you zoom in and out.

Hello lulukom!
Ouch! Did this happen when you Shift-doubleclicked? I could not to find the reason for the crash. I suppose this is not reproducible.
Thanks,
Attila

Changing the chord voicing has no effect on the phrase in the composition.
Think of the Phrase Editor as a testbed for the phrase you have designed. You can check how it looks and sounds with different chords and voicings. Anything you set for the scale and chord+voicing helps you to see how your phrase behaves under certain scales and chords.

I am seeing neither a) nor b). It is as if 'Apply Changes to Phrase in Composition' has no effect at all.

If the area of active editing is only the big grid, then I'd suggest that whatever is "for preview only" be somehow set apart visually and/or with a label.
OTOH, some of those items circled in yellow do in fact change what's shown in the big grid.
So do we have a situation where manual edits (e.g.via mouse) to the big grid are keepable changes whereas 'assisted edits' (e.g. via the items circled in yellow, incl. the voicing pop-up) are not keepable?

Just curious, if you drop a chord generator down, 8 bars. For the rhythm, set as simple intervals, and set to 3/4 bar and apply.. It looks wrong to me. It goes longer than one bar, into the next bar with just two notes,.. the others look correct..
