as someone who plays guitar (among other things), i never really used Guitar Rig for guitar, but have always used it as an FX rack for vocals and synths, primarily with presets i've created based on the Traktor's 12 expansion. however, i do not even see Traktor's 12 listed in any version of Komplete, so i am a little skeptical of GR6
my newest sounds:

Probably because you missed their recent survey email about Guitar Rig.
But seriously, it looks AMAZING!

Probably because it's included in Guitar Rig 6 now? It used to be a separate product/add-on.wetdentist wrote: Tue Sep 01, 2020 2:01 pm as someone who plays guitar (among other things), i never really used Guitar Rig for guitar, but have always used it as an FX rack for vocals and synths, primarily with presets i've created based on the Traktor's 12 expansion. however, i do not even see Traktor's 12 listed in any version of Komplete, so i am a little skeptical of GR6

The looks never bothered me so much although a new GUI was definitely called for. But the main issue, at least for guitar, was the amp sounds, which won't have changed. So I'm not super excited personally.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Tue Sep 01, 2020 2:04 pmProbably because you missed their recent survey email about Guitar Rig.![]()

Apparently the (3) new amps use a completely different tech that sounds much better than the old modelling so it may be worth a demo...Echoes in the Attic wrote: Tue Sep 01, 2020 2:13 pmThe looks never bothered me so much although a new GUI was definitely called for. I'm sure they are much better. And I'll probably grab some version of Komplete eventually during a half off sale (I'm currrently at 11U), so I'll have it eventually. But I'm pretty happy with Amplitube Max and Kuassa right now. Mostly the latter because I find touch screen compatibility hugely beneficial for guitar effects. I hate having to grab the mouse with a pick in my hand. But touching the screen feels super natural. So I like Kuassa for that. Amplitube isn't great with touch (not the instant response of touch friendly gUIs), but usable. But IK's other newer products like the MODO line are nice and multi-touch compatible so I'm hoping the next Amplitube interface will use that same GUI tech. Native Instruments on the hand are gong in the wrong direction. Massive X is unusable on a touch screen. It's even worse that most older legacy products like the original Massive. So if they are using that same platform for the new Guitar Rig, I won't be using it ever.SLiC wrote: Tue Sep 01, 2020 2:18 pmApparently the (3) new amps use a completely different tech that sounds much better than the old modelling so it may be worth a demo...Echoes in the Attic wrote: Tue Sep 01, 2020 2:13 pmThe looks never bothered me so much although a new GUI was definitely called for. I'd buy K13 tomorrow if not for the still-tiny interface

Agh, as usual, the most cinematic stuff goes to Ultimate. That was to be expected, of course, but that upgrade is too expensive for me, considering I don't want half of it. It's a pity, I have no interest in most of Komplete Ultimate, although I'm pretty sure Straylight, Thrill and Mysteria are super fun to use. Besides, I'd like to have Super 8, but I am already pretty well geared up on the synth department (DUNE 3, Pigments and ANA 2).
Anyway, it's an impressive collection.

The Guitar Rig video of someone playing a guitar through it was not impressive in any way shape or form. I need to see it played seriously in a more modern style to see if it stands toe to toe with Neural DSP. From what I heard, it could be a great effect rack, but for guitars? I dont know

Yes, I assume you're missing.DrEntropy wrote: Tue Sep 01, 2020 3:41 pm Upgrade from K12 is K13 is $199. For what? The only thing really new is guitar rig pro 6. Am I missing something?
As I made up my mind about recent NI releases, I'll broadcast it again:
Even though Massive X release was kind of controversial, the subsequent products were super cool and inspiring. Just 3 of them - Super 8, Noire and Straylight make Komplete 13 totally worth the money (to me). Actually I presumed that something as cool as Noire would be included in Ultimate, so it's very kind of them to include the best releases in Komplete Standard.
upd - Straylight goes to K13 Ultimate, my bad
