Ferione Official wrote: Mon Aug 31, 2020 12:58 pmAs for the SJW shite, this is not to alienate people but rather an up-front notification for any of those that are searching for me in the history of the internet and then use that against me. I have suffered immensely under that and I think that being here trying to better my life by better understand others should at least give me a bit of credit rather than a serving of buh-bye.

Point is, we cannot endlessly hunt and hold people accountable for things that happened in the past. Just like we are not pissed at the current german population anymore for WWII. Sounds reasonable right?
At first I read it as though you didn't want to work with sensitive people but then I realised that you were possibly trying to placate a group of people. Sorry that you've experienced such. I'd drop it though. If your only identity is online and you don't already have a commercial body of work that you are promoting, just kill that account and rebrand yourself.

As many have suggested, there's no reason to bring up SJWs with regards to finding people to work with. It's off-putting regardless as to how anyone views SJWs. Focus on the craft itself - Don't bring politics into it. Indeed, I wouldn't call this "flaming" but it is flame bait - kinda trollish. As a result, you don't come across as being sincere.

Not that I care what your attitude is or would attempt to stop you from having it, but you shouldn't unnecessarily politicise posts here.

So, year later you still looking for a group? Not been working out, huh?
What exactly is HPC? I have never heard of it before. As for the politicise post statement, its just that I am done with being hunted down by my past. Sounds like a fair upfront notification to me and it couldn't be further from the truth of being considered flaming.

As for looking for a group, it is indeed not been working out for me yet. But if you became homeless for 6 months then other priorities take place :). Also, it might be that what I seek / request is not really existing (yet) how I would like to have it so then the journey of searching keeps on going.
excuse me please wrote: Mon Aug 31, 2020 1:18 pm Lol I tried this many times. For instance: I bought Bitwig because it promised "online collaboration." So in advance I contacted some people here at KVR soon after BW was released in 2014. My idea was to use free pluggies to learn from each other, but or.. people were already absorbed by their own projects, or my idea was just laughed at.

But now I can manage the whole process of production, basically, I'd better concentrate on publication when time comes. Not bothered here :)
A pity it didn't work out for you but you gave it your best shot. You are right with being already absorbed in their own projects, that is something I noticed as well. We are all kinda seperate islands haha.

Had to Google the word placating. Making people less hostile about me is indeed a nice side-effect to achieve. Its just an upfront notice and it just blows my mind how much of a spin a genuine upfront notice others can give to it. How the connection has been made between SJW's and finding people to work with is beyond me.

Rebranding is not really an option for me but thank you for the suggestion. I will not continue in this thread then because it derailed too much...

HPC is acronym for Hyde Park Corner, or to be exact it's Speakers' Corner in Hyde Park, London, where anybody can stand on a soap box and rant.

Here's the HPC subforum at KvrAudio, where all non-music political & religious discussions are happening: viewforum.php?f=48

I’m wondering if the OP actually understands what the letters SJW mean? Or is there some other less know meaning? Or is it that part of the post really that whacked?

RichieWitch wrote: Sun Mar 31, 2019 1:21 pm Not sure if this is what you're looking for, and it is pretty experimental, but I joined up with the Disquiet Junto a couple months ago, and it's completely changed my music production. It is a group of 1000+ music producers who participate in weekly music assignments, usually strange and bizarre music assignments, and then post their work together on SoundCloud.

For example, this week's project is to "experiment with a sound sent via Bluetooth. Work to find situations in which Bluetooth begins to fail, where the sonic signature of that signal failure becomes apparent. This will likely be due to distance, but you may find other creative approaches to achieve the distortion." Then you have to create an original track from that. These projects really get you thinking creatively.

You can find more information at: https://disquiet.com/2013/04/25/disquiet-junto-faq/

So why should you consider it? Other producers will actually listen to your stuff and comment. When I post a track to the group, I get 50 to 100 people listening. From my own experience, I've gone from finishing two or three tracks a year, to finishing two or three a month. One of those tracks was picked up by a small label in Europe (a first for me), and I was invited by another group member in Japan to collaborate on a track for his upcoming album (another first for me).

It's been a great experience and my musical skills have really improved.
That looks quite interesting, thanks.

I watched his intro of his new channel on YouTube (posted just some weeks ago, in Dutch - a pity, English could draw more viewers) and he does mention the importance of music projects where a percentage of the profit goes to social justice projects & organisations. That's cool with me.

Aha. Kinda thought there was a mistranslation there. Yes, i’m good with that, too.
