They are not very useful, essentials have a very wet sound, it narrows down their application quite a bit. I bought 12 ultimate because of it and was very disappointed.

Do you mean the Symphony Essentials?

I would like to have them as well in standard Komplete, but, you can't have everything. They sell them for 399 € as a separate product, so, I understand that they're only available in Ultimate.

If I can hold out until next year or so, I get it for $199. NI Have a fantastic upgrade policy, if you're capable of holding out.
Funny how you call a situation in which you have been waiting for 7 years a "fantastic upgrade policy". Are you immortal?

I think, "fantastic upgrade policy" is a system that gives you the opportunity to upgrade every year/month/release while feeling that you are getting more than you pay.

Anyway, I like NI, really. Just because of their products and human-oriented support.

First world problems. :P

Seriously, you can't please everyone. That's a big issue these days anyway. Everyone trying to please everyone, which always results in compromises, where nobody is really happy. Take it for what it is, and keep your wallet in the pocket, if you don't feel there's enough benefit for you personally.

And remember that there are Black Friday and summer sales where you can get those upgrade for 50 % off, which is in fact fantastic.

And if I may add this (nobody needs to feel addressed): There's so many complaints these days, while the possibilities we have are sheer endless. That's why I needed to add the snippy "first world problems" comment. Seriously, embrace the possibilities, don't focus on every little single negative (for you) side effect, which may just be cosmetic.

Unless Cuba and Guitar Rig 6 blow me out of water, I'm gonna skip this one I think (or wait for a sale). 200 coins is a lot of coins.

FYI, this year's Black Friday won't provide 50% off the updates/upgrades on the Komplete bundles.

Did they announce that, or do you speak on a speculative experience base?

It's speculative only, but 100% confirmed. It's simple: Why would they offer 50% of updates/upgrades on Komplete bundles 2 months after releasing it? :)

Thanksgiving XXL is when that will happen, which will be in 2021. But before that we will have Summer Sale 50% off. So, in general, every 2 years there is a new Komplete bundle and every 2 years from the year following the release, there is Thanksgiving XXL sale. Thanksgiving sale happens every year, which excludes bundles.

That obsoletes a lot of recent laptops. Certainly most Mac laptops, which have integrated Intel graphics. As someone else pointed out, Fabfilter can make stunning GUIs that don't require a gaming rig to run.

I with to go NI (and all other manufacturers) would justly have a sensible lower cost all year round and not do all these 50% off sales- I have only ever bought when 50% off, same will ever other company that does 'big sales' they stop people actually buying all year around. Even if its 6 months, can anyone actually be that desperate for an update they wont wait 6 months to save 50%?
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Oh, don't worry, everyone will have to re-write everything anyway in a very near future, cause iSheeple will rush to buy the hottest ARM based toys.

Yeah, but it's also about how much you can really digest. There's a lot of content in Komplete bundles even for life time, so IMO it makes sense to spread out the sales for 6 months or one year. In fact, it also helps us to avoid GAS in a way, especially because the sales are predictable.

I was following some threads on the U-he forum and Urs didn't seem to think that was a big deal, because he's already got his code fairly abstracted and platform agnostic. Pretty sure Fabfilter won't have a problem with it either. As for NI their ironclad policy is to double down regardless of feedback or consequences.

It's no doubt likely that they won't, but, you never know. :)
