I would say that totally depends on the musical genre. In Ambient, there are tracks where all sounds are literally soaked in reverb.

You should check out demo versions to find your favourite delay. There are clean and colored delays.

My favourite clean delays:
1) Cubase StereoDelay
2) UAD Precision Delay
3) Cubase Multitap

My favourite colored delays
1) EchoBoy
2) ValhallaDelay
3) UAD Galaxy tape echo
4) UAD Cooper Time Cube
If you plan on purchasing your first Universal Audio hardware, you can get a free additional plugin. Just send a PM.

If you like old plugins, Nasty DLA by Variety of Sound, and Sanford Delay. DLA is grungier and retro-er, but Sanford Delay is easier to tempo-sync. You can even sync the left and right to different measure divisions.

I would use it much more if it wouldn't saturate the signal like mad... that way, I use solely Replika XT for delay purposes really, because, the signal stays crystal clear if I want it to, and dirty as hell, if that is what I want, with some of the other modes.

Air Delay Pro anyone? Looks promising and innovative.

But that saturation in H-Delay is really nice. Kinda warm. Makes everything sounding more pleasant, I find at least.

My favourite delay has been U-he Colour Copy recently

The key to making sure you have the best delay is to buy all the delays.

Agreed! It really has a special sound to it.

So many. Repika, Microfuse, Deelay, I even still use Bionic Delay (from 2004). It has a preset called Endless Delay which is a great replacement for Ohmboyz.

Auditory Dark Memory! Wow it sounds good.

You can get Replika XT for 34,50 € now, so, that would definitely be my recommendation.

Erica synths Zen Delay, it’s wild!
