Thanks very much Attila for your responses and the implementations mentioned above.

Looking forward to the next beta for sure!

So, I have a question... Using simple intervals and a chord generator and set to 3/4 bar.. I am not getting the same chord for a 4 bar chord as it compares to a 1 bar chord.. is this correct or a bug?

Good question.
There won't be a v3.9 release, the next release will be v4.0, most probably in October.
I call it v3.9 as long as I can maintain backwards compatibility with the last stable version. After that the beta will be named v4.0betas.

Thanks,
Attila

Thanks to Attila for the new Beta.
With the new track folder, I already want the function "unmix drum track to new tracks according to the pitch and create a new track folder with these new tracks" And vice versa, of course!)) It just asks for implementation)

Hi,

re: backwards compatibility - Is the file format going to change, and if so, will the older files remain openable in the 4.0 line or will it be a case of "to work with old files, use the old version"?

Any other comments that can help us understand the anticipation of the compatibility situation (or the known unknowns thereof)?

Ok Attila - thanks and understood... have d/loaded the latest beta you made today ;-)

I've been following a little and seen how you've worked hard over these last weeks - lots of progress.!

Along with user @sj1 comments above, backwards compatibility is a concern... Maybe v4.0 will be a separate app entirely, which can install/run alongside v3.8x..? Finally, I'm guessing v4.0 will likely be a paid update..?

Another note on the new beta .. I would like to randomly select tracks and combine them into Track Folder at the same time and vice versa! I mean, moving the tracks into the Track Folder is not one at a time, but selected at the same time. Sorry for my English )

OK, I'm taking this point. I'm also noticing that if I do the 'Duplicate with Content' operation then I do get a new name.

Offhand, I think sometimes getting new names with structure changes and sometimes not getting them is problematic.

I suggest going all-in on the chosen paradigm - i.e. nothing gets a new name unless the user explicitly requests it.

In any case, I think this is especially applicable to a Copy. When we copy the content for a structure item, keeping the same name makes an accurate statement (these two are the same!), whereas a new name suggests a change in content that has not taken place (at least not yet anyway!).

What do others think?

I forgot my other request for Track Folder ... This is the command "Create new Track Folder from selected tracks". Thank .

I am afraid it is not possible to keep backwards compatibility due to the internal reorganization, and changes in logic. This major release is a good opportunity to make deeper improvements.

You will be able to use v4.0 alongside v3.8, as they use a separate settings folder in your Documents folder (Documents/RapidComposerV3 -> Documents/RapidComposerV4).

Yes, v4.0 will be a paid upgrade with a small upgrade fee. The upgrade will be free for all orders since April 1, 2019.

Thanks,
Attila

Ok, thanks Attila - exactly what I was hinting at; moving forward, keep projects separate per each app.

All good.!
