If i turn on mpe i get no sound when i play. when i turn it off the sound comes back.
Would that be indicating that my midikeyboard can't handle mpe and the plugin senses that and don't react to the notes played?

Honestly, I had an idea of chaos-based synth for a long time. Must check if this one makes sense.

That's probably the case. Which controller is that?

With the Sensel Morph (MPE controller) it works both with MPE on and off, but with MPE-off there's artifacts as discussed in the previous page, so it must be used with MPE-on.
When I use the Hammer88 (standard midi controller) it only works with MPE-off, no sound with MPE-on.

If you have a standard keyboard, it most likely sends notes on Midi Channel 1. The standard setting of MPE is channel 2 and up, each note a different channel...

Echoes in the Attic wrote: Thu Sep 03, 2020 3:04 am MPE means polyphonic expression, but I don't think it needs to mean audible polyphony.
It's the first time I'm personally seeing "MPE" in a monosynth which quite honestly got me confused, but what you guys are saying makes sense and somehow cleared it up for me.
The "MPE" button sure gets rid of some artifacts using the Morph, as also suggested above by TJ Shredder.

At this point, this makes me guess the "big brother" version Generate will be a monosynth too.
The couple of articles mentioning Generate and listing the expanded feature set don't mention polyphony at all.
The developer did say somewhere that the payware version would be polyphonic.

I hope so

Thanks. I'll try channel 2. :tu:

I think the point is that if you don’t have an MPE interface just turn off MPE mode, it won’t work well otherwise.

Sounds terrible. Will delete and go back to Aalto.

Does your DAW support MPE? Live doesn’t. Bitwig does, but you must select it on the plugin interface options.

I'm on a low fixed income. I buy the cheapest thingys with ok reviews. It's SubZero Commandkey25.
Somewhere i have the software to change its settings but where? :D
This pc is also for my graphic needs. 2D, 3D and modelling for print.
Right now i don't feel the need to find the software and settings. I'll try it later when it feels right.
The mpe thing was just me curious. I always want to find out how things work. Quantum mechanics or whales is equal interesting. :borg:

PS. My sister got angry at me for poking at her dolls moving eye, when i was a kid. I wanted to check out behind it how it worked and it fell of its hinges into the head. Oops...

Has everyone received the message that zerocrossing doesn't like Pendulate? If not, run to your inboxes! There is an important message for you!

MPE is not produced by most keyboard, it's mostly just the ROLI products, the Sensel Morph, the Linnstrument, the Hakan Continuum, and some iPad apps. There are probably some others, but you would know if you had an MPE interface. Pendulate still works great with MIDI.

Well, there's no onboard fx, so when trying out this synth, be sure to use a reverb. (I've also made some cool noise with Valhalla Super Massive and with Blackhole.)

It does sound rather metallic to me (a bit like WaveRazor perhaps?), so it seems to be for such music/events.

Should be a great candidate for a Synth Challenge: free and unique.

Well done Newfangled Audio/Eventide, and thanks for sharing! :tu:
