I'm really looking forward to GR6, especially the new Bass Invader amp.
Amplitube policy:

Free version
Standard version
Max version
Name Brand versions
ala-cart purchases
frequent sales

I like all of that. Komplete strategy is actually
quite similar, and I like that too. NI do have
far better demos in most cases,

I've been trying to search for the best way to get Komplete 13 (the standard package). Is there a time of year or buy/upgrade way of doing it that is least expensive? $599 is a bit more than I'd like to pay.

I'm hoping someone might have a quicker answer than me digging through years worth old posts over the internet. :)

Thanks!

Crossgrade shenanigans during the summer sale are usually the cheapest way I think. That, or look for it second-hand.

I got it during the summer sale for cheaper (half off? I don't recall exactly). Evildragon indicated it probably wouldn't be on sale at Black Friday time, given it just came out. But who knows, where the economy will be in a few months.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

Probably the best way takes a little work. Like buy something you can use to upgrade to it as cheap as possible. Then wait for the half price sale that always comes eventually.

I pre-ordered KU13CE and am excited...I was coming from KU12CE. There is enough stuff there to keep me occupied a long time. It blows me away how much discussion there is about price. I know that us as musicians are broke...but gee...either it is in your budget or not. It is either worth it to you to get it or not. Way way way too much price talk.

EvilDragon wrote: Wed Sep 02, 2020 6:24 pm Just because Brian ain't with NI anymore, doesn't mean there aren't other people that can take over the code. It's a matter of effort vs payoff, though.
For example, Cakewalk did a good enough job with Z3TA 2 despite the loss of RGC.
Prezactly.

Well, they basically did a reskin, and made the waveshaping parameters automatable and effects reorderable. Don't recall any other changes, but please do refresh my memory :)

GR5 is a powerful FX processor but I do not believe GR6 will be able to compete with the Brainworx Ampegs.

I got K12 standard + M32 keyboard for about 360€ during last year's summer sale. There was an offer for that keyboard + K12 select, then I upgraded to standard for 200€. A hell of a deal.

Hope it helps.

...there are Massive, Monark and Battery presets in Maschine expansions, but I wonder, is there really any with some for FM8?

Generally I really hope, NI won't abandon Absynth, FM8 and Massive. These are still amazing synths and it would be a shame, if the software music industry would turn out to be even inferior in comparison with the hardware industry, when it comes to longevity.

And hopefully, if there might be updates to FM8 and Absynth, they won't be as awkward to use as Massive X. This synth has such an incredible sound, it's mind-blowing, but using it for about one year now, after the initial excitement, now I use it less and less, because of some really questionable UI/UX and feature decisions (layout, Performer, no direct hardware access to parameters, another new NI browser, no dual filter etc.).

Old Massive has still proven to be more practical for me (e.g. you can save Performer presets or you can have a comprehensive midi and host automation - wow!), but since the terminology seems to have shifted from "addition to the Massive family" to "successor to Massive" recently, it probably tells, what the future of Massive will be.

I guess it depends what you mean by 'abandoned; they are still for sale, but when is the last time they had any real updates, some people may feel they have already been abandoned....bt I musty admit I did think that about GR5 so...
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Maybe updating the old synths is the only way they can go. Bring on FM9!

I’m thinking MAYBE Black Friday/Xmas, but really I’m fairly sure we’d have to wait 6 months before we see a upgrade pricing sale,

In my opinion it’s still worth the wait.

Indeed, the 50% off update/upgrade on Komplete 13 will only be in Summer of Sound 2021.

More than that, they made them dynamic in realtime. Originally, they were static.
