1. Samples with Delay, Reverb, Release Time
The samples must be cut complete from the start to the end of the full Release, Reverb, Delay, because only then it's possible to use and also loop them! I got over 200 wet vocals some weeks ago and they're useless, because they are cut straight to the bar and so the FX is also cut, crap!
2. Loops, especially drum loopss
One of the most mistakes in many sample collection is, that they're not looped exactly from the beginning. Especially drum beats are then almost useless, because mostly the first kick / sound misses the click at the beginning and if there are stems, all of them have the same problem. If that are simple beats, I can record and loop them again and / or replace the first sound with a copy of another position in that loop, but if that are complex and / or wet loops with FX, they're useless crap!
3. Samples with modulations, especially filter mod
I bought some good collections, because I like the one shot samples there. But there are also many synth loops and some nice processed acid lines. That Acid lines are cool, but useless, because they are only recorded from the closed filter to the open filter and not from the open filter back to closed filter. So, I have to add an own filter to "simulate" that.
4. Dealing with customers
There are really many good sample developers, with great quality samples and no problems!
But still every developer I bought samples from with such basic mistakes, don't fix that samples. They tell me, others have no problems with them or it's my DAW and other shit like that.
So finally, this is my second attempt to clear that up here at KVR, because the most developers are here. If I'll get such crap samples and stupid answers again, I'll create a list with obvious to everyone examples and the developers and I also post that list in many Facebook musician groups! And this is a big list, because I'm buying samples since decades!
But if you have questions about how to create good usable samples, you can ask me!
