It definitely does. One of the top 5 best sounding synths for me.

I am not much into sound design, but lately I have improved myself with my overall understanding and have become a better tweaker.

I don't understand MX's oscillator phase control. Regardless whether I set the engine to free running, to reset all, or to reset OSC, I can't seem to get the oscillator to phase. I don't understand the phase controls either. One is in the oscillator section (what does that do when the oscillators are free running??), and one in the Voice tab for each oscillator, which gets active when you set the engine to reset all or reset OSC.
Puzzled here.
Here's a sound example, 6 voice unison, phas retriggering, phase set to about 5° or so, first Spire (how it should sound), and then MX (sounds as if there was n phase retriggering at all):

It may have been intentional that you cannot do phasey unison. However you can definitely hear that oscillator phases are reset if you have Reset OSC enabled, and you set unison to 6 and minumum spread. Each and every note will sound the same. However it seems there are some fixed phase offsets between unison voices at play always.
As for osc phase control, if you mean the one that is in the dual wavetable module in some phase distortion modes, you can use it for PWM basically.

Thanks. I did some more testing, and, yeah, there's definitely phase retriggering going on, you hear that when you set one oscillator to sinve wave, and set it to 90° phase, and adjust the curve of the attack phase of the amp envelope, to get that typical click at the beginning of the sound.
Bit of a shame that it doesn't let you do that "phasey unison" though. It's a sound which is intentionally used in some of the music I listen to, and I hear it pretty frequently.
Anyway, it's not that I'm not sure being able to do the one or the other thing in specific plugins, so, no problem.
Wonder a bit what was the thinking behind it though. I really can't imagine why you'd want to make such a call. It's very unsual. I don't know any other soft synths which does it like that.

Have you tried setting the (Phase-) Spread knob on the voice page below the oscillator section to -100% ?chk071 wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2020 9:54 pm Thanks. That actually did it! Thanks a lot dude.
It makes sense, as the manual states this:

It makes sense, as the manual states this:
Still don't know how to make the 2 oscillators phase without using unison, but, maybe I will find that out one day as well...Spread: Spreads out the starting phases for the added unison voices. Turned fully left, all voices start at the same phase position with 0% Spread

Did you try using the same wave for both Oscillators, detune them a little and set them to reset in the voice section?chk071 wrote: Sun Sep 06, 2020 10:38 am Still don't know how to make the 2 oscillators phase without using unison, but, maybe I will find that out one day as well...![]()

Yeah. It somehow doesn't make them phase. Don't know if there is some kind of a phase spread hardcoded into the oscillators.
I would be surprised about it though, because... I set one oscillator to 90° phase, and it's... 90°. Easily to be heard with a sine wave, making it click as it should be. It's weird. I don't know what Massive X does, but, it does something different compared to other threads, in regards of the phase when using 2 oscillators.
