i dont see them porting reaktor as a whole, rather player enabled instruments is more likely.
but i know nothing!

This just got a lot more interesting. Reaktor and Kontakt "selections" are both represented in stand alone. It's possible in the future Reaktor is part of Maschine+.

Add in a MIDI controller and sound card, then it's not some crazy price at all.
I'm not rushing out to buy this, but it's a solid deal, if they have no bugs, you get everything you need to play live in one device without a computer etc.

yeah i can see the attraction.
not personally, i have no particular need to be free od a computer...
but for anyone looking for a one box live solution, this should, as machinesworking says, barring major bugs be a big player in that arena.

the specs are pretty poor.... you can get a decent pc with a controller and sc for that price easily, and load whatever you want on it....

Laptop, plus sound card, plus controller. All that would add up, and that's without the included software. Plus, it's three separate pieces of gear, compared to a single device. You're comparing apples to oranges because they're both food.AnX wrote: Tue Sep 08, 2020 5:39 pmmachinesworking wrote: Tue Sep 08, 2020 5:34 pmAdd in a MIDI controller and sound card, then it's not some crazy price at all.

You forgot to mention the software + samples.AnX wrote: Tue Sep 08, 2020 5:39 pm

And you will tour with your PC, right?
Still, it is garbage for the studio, but considering there are idiots with money that buy all kinds of useless stuff like modular walls and tons of keyboards capable only of the same old kind of sounds... it will 100 % sell well.

out of interest, what do you propose such idiots do with their money instead?

that I already own? and cannot use in maschine+?
why not? I've used it live before, lots of ppl do...
sure, if all they want to use is the included software...anomandaris1 wrote: Tue Sep 08, 2020 5:49 pm As long as this thing is reliable, it will be better than the setup you described for musicians that gig.

One stereo pair of inputs and no CV gate and trigger / sync? I suppose you could expand it by using a Keystep Pro to get the CV stuff (if it is recognized by the USB inputs), but as far as I know there is no NI controller that has those connections. I'd consider that essential now especially if you are going to be sampling external hardware in real time with this.
With two Inputs you are looking at a submixer for a more involved setup as well.
Speculation: Perhaps NI is looking at add-ons that connect via those two USB ports that include those features? That would be interesting.
