Does u-he Diva ever go on sale?

I see u-he plugins on sale here in buy/sell forum pretty often with 30-40% off. If you really don’t want to wait or you don’t have strong motivation to support developers, it’s not the problem to get pretty much any u-he plugin. Why so much drama

I'm afraid there's a certain trend ot selling u-he plugins for about 80% of ehri new prices here. I'm usually really not someone complaining about used prices, but, I just don't understand why people are offering them for such high prices, even when they're out for ages. Seems strange, especially considering that the used prices for something like Diva rather settled down to about $90 for some time (which already is high).

Anyway, on topic, I don't think there'll be another opportunity like the NI sale some time ago.

Because they hold their value because they DONT do sales, are well maintained and have good support.

Also diva v1.4 has a lot diva v1 didnt have.

Fabfilter also holds value. Softube to a degree

As I mentioned... Diva settled to about $90 some time ago. Dunno why it's being sold for $120- $130 now. There's no real rational reason I could think of which explains this, except for the stuff which is stated in this thread as well: viewtopic.php?f=102&t=550865&hilit=ebay

And some people think strategically from the very start. So they buy a top synth and build a pool of hundreds or thousands of patches over the years as they become more and more professional.

I bought Logic for $199. It came with a TON of built-in instruments, samples, etc. You're saying that someone couldn't make music with just the stuff that is included with any of the modern DAWs? Thats nonsense.

One problem with that is that those synths are often part of the DAW and can't be used in another DAW. So, if you wish to switch to another DAW, you lose your patches.

Of course you can. The question is if you really want to. I never came along a DAW with instruments OR effects which can compete with the crème de la crème of payware.

Aspiring musicians can get a ton of mileage out of what comes with a DAW these days.

And I continue to think that getting a separate quality synth between 100 and 200 euros makes sense when you think in the long term because you might want to switch DAW's and take your patches with you at some time.

I think maybe of that NI sale where a lot of people got it cheap. The price started recovering later on.
