Waldorf Lector

Just bought this on offer from Audio Plugin Deals.
Can't work out how to load the presets.

The VST is looking for .fxp files. (VST3 Windows)
The presets I've downloaded from the Waldorf site are .vstpreset
Not sure what I'm doing wrong?

Can anyone help please?

.vstpre are Steinberg Files (Cubase, Halion, ...) and can be loaded via the Plugins VST Container.

You can load them via Plugin VST Container - If placed in the right directory.

for Cubase 10 and VST3 I did it in the following way:

go to "C:\Users\your name\Documents\VST3 Presets" make a new Folder "Waldorf" and inside the "Waldorf" Folder make a new Folder "Lector" after that unzip the vst3-presets file into "C:\Users\your name\Documents\VST3 Presets\Waldorf\Lector".
You can access the presets on the top of the Lector windows. (Media-Browser).

I thought about it for a second, but, I don't really use vocoders much (or at all), so, I'm fine with Vocodex which I own.

Hope they have such a sale on Nave soon. I'd surely grab that one.

Well, I have also Waves Ovox and I'm really not sure if Lector will give me some additional benefits.
I am just testing and comparing.

I guess it's all about the sound. Lector sounds like a Waldorf synth.

I have tested it yesterday and presets doesn't impressed me. GUI is outdated and not scalable. Although I don't like WUP, I'll better wait $29 sale to grab Waves Ovox

I’ve always been most impressed with the clarity from Lector (up to 100 bands). Vocodex is also good, but it is Windows only. Tone2 Icarus is also impressive.

I jumped on the Lector deal because it’s one I’ve wanted for a long time, but not for $150.

I have a hunch Arturia will have a vocoder (Roland VP-330 or Moog/Bode 7702?) in V-Collection 8.

Lector sounds like a Waldorf synth.

Yes, especially tempting for Waldorf fans such as myself. This is my last puchase after owning all of their plugins and a great addition to that. Love their audio processing since using my uWave XT, uQ, Pulse+ and D-Pole. Their newer plugins sound more on the crisp side, instead of thick and fat like the old waldorf. Could be a love and hate, but fits well into modern music. Lector has a crisp and detailed character that I like. Kind of a Super D-Pole and producing results I often wished from the former. The included synth is not bad, almost like a VA version of Largo with sample playback and user samples. It makes the plugin instantly playable and way more flexible. My wish is just for a resizeable GUI. But I do miss the sound of the old Waldorf as plugins.
