My IR Library is quiet endless - but Convolution has never showed up as "a brilliant Sound Improver". I want to get "out of the Fog". Not into it ;-)

Multiband is often helpful. Either Melda or MB-7. But MB is laborious and treacherous. You´ll immediately get involved into spectral Confusion.

Some good Experiences with FX Chains here, too. We don´t really need to have all Options in one single Plugin as demanded... but I remember better Results 15 Years ago. There were some many experimental Tools back then (and not "Recreations"). I remember a Reverb that sounded extremely dense and had spectral Options like a Synthesizer :/

Is there a reverb or delay where the tail can be arpeggiated.

You are looking for a new Toy? RP Verb offers various Possibilitys of Modulation for the Tail (Env, bwd., ...).

You could put a trance gate after if that was the effect you were after?

Not exactly sure where I was headed.
Perhaps a more musical tail but the volume would have to be increased to appreciate the arpeggiation.
Perhaps to add more motion and variety in the tail.

In addition the artifacts if any could be good for sound design.

NI Razor has a really inspiring Reverb integrated btw.

Errorsmith: "Remarkably, RAZOR's reverb is created in the additive engine – a filtered noise is added to the dry signal, similar to the noise tail of 808 claps. Yet it doesn't sound like noise, it sounds like even better reverb: spatial, dense and without the ringing sometimes heard in other reverbs. Even with very short decay times! As a musical side effect, the reverb tail follows the pitch of the synthesizer voice, so it's pitchable via envelopes, LFOs and dissonance effects. In monophonic mode, this feature is especially useful, as the dry signal and the overlapping reverb tails are always in tune, so even very long decay doesn't muddy up your melody."

And he´s right. It´s a really interesting Tool that generates outstanding Results.

But as it seems the NIs seem to be the only Company who trys (really) new Ways and delivers good Results? I´m tempted now... Always said that I wouldn´t and what I have were Presents ... but Raum and Razor both point into this Direction :?

Surely possible with the MSF, I mean nothing isn´t

That´s what I meant before with "we don´t always need everything in on Tool". Filter-crushed-phasing-Reverbs are awesome :D

But anyway - that "Grain-Thing". There´s something about it - but ot´s maybe not really a Reverb anymore.

Coming back to this Discussion: Blackhole is pretty much what I asked for. Demoed it for just 10 Minutes.

First Reverb that I have ever used that has such a severe Impact on the Frequency Balance / Sound Quality in a very positive Way - and I´m speaking about Pads - a critical Topic for most Reverbs somehow - here.

Blackhole is pretty awesome. Also check out Polyverse Comet. It's pretty tweakable also, without producing artefacts.

gonna throw adaptiverb in here as well

I wish there would be a PC port of FAC Alteza. I only have the iOS one but it sounds pretty dope.

Tweaking is no good. My Signal Chain usually has so many Parameters that I tend to simple but effective Tools - just like Blackhole ;-)
