Finished an ambient tune today. Piano wanders..theres no real melody. Kinda makes me dizzy when I close my eyes. :? Can't seem to get any real inspiration these days. :( let me know what you think. :)

I wouldn't worry about that. This tune is inspired, IMO.

A perfect tune for browsing KvR at 2'50 am.

Delicate.

Night air bubbles and distant saddhus swimming in the
stardust river. Above Neptune, of course.

Nice and relaxing.

I do think your ethnic percussion should be sent to your reverb channel a bit. Or removed completely.

Otherwise, cool! Good 'thinking' music. Nice job.

Thanks Forever,

Was expecting someone to kick me when I'm down. :hihi:

Theres a little delay on the drums but you are right...no reverb. I kind of thought they held the song together but perhaps they are just too up front.

thanks ahja

.
I quiet like it as it is. The actual percussion sound contrasts the spaced out atmospherics very nicely. It keeps it together . Reverb might reduce that 'live on the street' feeling ( even though there's delay) which I get in my mind's eye. Those Saddhus are actually grooving to this tabla-like rhythm, take it away and they will drown in sorrow.

Thankyou for the kind words Forever..that's just what I needed right now. You bring up some good points too. :)

Beautifully minimal.

Tablas might have some kind of subtle movement or filtering or slight pattern change, but something that would only just live around the edge of perception?

Very nice.

You speak my language. :D

It's jagged, this edge. :hihi:

When I layed out the percussion track, I was thinking that I would keep them simple...same repeating 4 bar loop.. I would agree with you though on the slight change as they do tend to sound somewhat mechanical in it's present state.

Maybe a sweeping filter applied lightly would add some color.

Thanks for the listen and the comments. :)
