IV! wrote: Sun Sep 13, 2020 11:28 pm Are these sounds produced only by the Fury-800 or are there external effects? The sounds are very distinctive, especially the percussion, as if it is from some EMU Emulator or similar sampler of those times. I don't know what your plans are, but I think it would be possible to lower the high here for the sake of imitating an outdated devices)
There's some gated reverb and a noise effect (Abletons's erosion) on the kick, snare and wood block. The kick and snare are 2 and 4 layers respectively. All the percussion elements and layers have their own effects chain so I have some flexibility if I want to change any of the sounds. I was wanting to get a retro sound with the gated reverb on the percs, but really whatever I can get that sounds good on the track...So I guess a mix of retro and modern sounds is what I'm aiming for. :tu:

My "Psytrance" submission

https://soundcloud.com/gethiox/gethiox-du-du-du

48x Fury-800
  • 2x - HighHat
  • 2x - Kick
  • 6x - Snare
  • 2x - Lead Bass
  • 4x - Additional L/R echo notes
  • 12x - Organs (6 voices, 2x per voice)
  • 4x - Two noise tracks
  • 2x - Lead synth v1
  • 2x - Lead synth v2
  • 8x - Pad synth
  • 2x - "Sprinkles"
  • 2x - Additional Bass track
Built-in Bitwig plugins:
  • 4x Compressor
  • 8x Delay-2
  • 7x EQ+
  • 8x Reverb
  • 5x Filter
  • 5x Dynamics (Sidechain compression)
  • 2x Arpeggiator
And also a bunch of Bitwig's Modulators (LFO, etc.)

I want to mention that I did make use of modulators heavily.
For instance, I created organs out of many Fury-800 instances and automated its pitch per each voice and R/L channel separately. I'm not sure if this is allowed but I didn't find anything in rules about that. At the end of the day it's just an automation, plenty of automation.
Even if my track will be disqualificated I don't really mind. My main reason in participating in that challenge is to actually do something, create a track from the begging to the end.
And working with Furry-800 was a fun challenge, indeed!

I guess my submission will be kick-less... :-P
Kinda. This is the first time I've tried this VST, so it gave me a bit of a headache. This is the closest sound to an 808-styled bass-drum I could get:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYTIImSCkkQ

The oscillators kinda get out of sync eventually, but I still haven't read the manual. I'll check it later.

I'm loving how retro it sounds for leads and bass, though. I'll probably be using it more often.

This synth is nicely 80s flair, but URGH, why there is no preset select box or so? It also crashes quite a lot on macos while opening the GUI (using the scalable GUI version)... jfyi.

All your synths supporting MPE and maybe VST3 would be dope, @fullbucket.

That's why I provide a downported version 2.0.1.N for older Win/Mac machines.

Can't you fix it? I mean scalable GUI is nice on Retina screen

Where to poly 800 patches / sysex? Looking for good lead examples. So far could program one myself, so it sounds good.

EDIT: t seems to crash on the second opening of the gui, always. Is there a memory leak while closing the gui?

How? I only know that you have a Mac with Retina display. What is your OS version? Where's the crash dump?

Hello everyone,

I'm late this time, my vacation lasted a long time ;)

As a beta tester for this synth, I spent exciting days with Björn, the synth and the creation of the sounds. It has been a great honor to be on the road as a beta tester for Björn (thanks Björn) :tu:

Unfortunately, there was only enough time to make the few presets for the default bank. So I created a lot of new presets and used them to create the track for this competition. The presets have already been uploaded and are available under:
https://www.kvraudio.com/banks.php?s=dl&id=3464

In the coming days there will be another bigger preset package that I created exclusively for Björn. It will be available on the Fury800 page.

BTW: I think the two modes are awesome, 2 in 1 synth. As a tip, I can only recommend creating a preset and then changing the mode ... surprises are sure to be there

So here is my work:

Songname: Kraftraum - Rotation 31 (Fury800)

Enjoy the track and have a nice day :)

Might as well post what I've got:

OSC#139: Full Bucket Music's Fury-800

Instances: #20
DAW: MuLab (www.mutools.com)
FX: EQ, Level Compressor, Delays
3rd party: OTT, LoudMax64, Nova 67-p, DragonflyReverb

What a curious synth, really. It runs really well here, super low CPU, behaves like a charm. The filter resonance solution is a bit unfortunate, because of the DW offset due to disadvantageous envelope order, but other than that... surprisingly pleasant to work with and it does sound quite well, I think.
Super short: It was fun! Thanks, Björn, you rock! 8)

I may go back at the song before the deadline, because it does really feel a bit packed and dense, could use a bit more love, but hey...at least I finally got to make a bit of music again! :hyper:
