I hate 101s and I really hate 303s. In fact, the SH101 is the most boring, generic sounding synth I think I have ever owned. It was a great workshorse at the time, because it was easy to patch on stage, but the sound was very bland. The way we use Wasp is all about velocity modulation to give a bassline life and movement and the way Wasp's resonance responds to that is something that's hard to emulate in other synths. It's a style I first started exploring with my O1/W's unique form of synthesis. You can hear it on this track, in the first two synth parts - https://deathlyquiet1.bandcamp.com/track/drdeathschpaeckulum wrote: ↑Tue Sep 15, 2020 6:15 amHey BONES, have you tried ABL Pro? I did try WASP yesterday - sorry, can't hear what's so special about the filter. The 'liquid' thing has been done a lot, there are some quite nice 101 and 303 emulations out there.
Wasp imparts a similar vibe but with a much more V/A feel. There's an example under the guitar in this remix we did a while ago - https://youtu.be/v4lolLj78pI?t=200
The bassline in this song is another example -

No but he seemed quite annoyed that I even asked. I got one very terse response that gave me the distinct impression that continuing the conversation was a waste of time. I figured that would be the case but my band-mate was the one who suggested I ask, so I did.Did Richard say why he's not interested?
