Agreed, if you're not paying for what you've already bought it looks like a good selection.

Does anyone know what the MixBox latency is?
Does it depend on how many and which modules you are using?

After a few days of this, i have a different point of view now to its purpose and and also considering the psp rack at the next sale they have on it.

I have Amplitube 4 which I honestly never use (dont like the amps or the work flow, and dont' get me started on guess which preset work and which don't)......I have lots of T-Rack 5 stuff which except for maybe occasional use of the Manley one, i never use the rest. They are ok, even some good, i just have better stuff available.

Sort of the same thing with PSP stuff, i have quite a few of them, but never use them as I have other solutions that I think work better for me......

But what these racks offer me is quick workflow improvement, I have all the IK stuff in one place easy to configure (and the same theory with the PSP stuff). So for me it is not what I have before, just now that i may actually use ik stuff now that i have them all in one easily accessible package.

my two cents.

The UI is a real PITA with a touch pad or magic mouse. Whenever I try to adjust a parameter I always slide the "rack".

Saw a video of someone using Studio One that showed 9.2 ms latency. He unloaded modules and it made no difference. I'm assuming that the latency is from the mixbox itself and anything added within it is negligible.

9.2 ms? I would not use a plugin with that much latency.

hmmm

Cubase saying 3 (is that ms?)

Yes, it's most likely in ms in Cubase as well. Try adding Saturator X and see what the latency jumps to.
It was probably his system or the DAW not giving a proper reading. Link to video is here at about 28:20. Infinistrip reads 0 ms and Mixbox reads 9.2 ms and if you notice when he is flicking through his list , Saturator X is showing 8.1 ms. That could be the reason??? He only disables the devices , not unloads them so it's hard to tell if that's why there was no change.

After trying it some of the modules use way more cpu than others. For example, the Neve channel emulation uses a lot more when you turn the mic pre on vs line.
I read more than post = I listen more than I talk

Post

CPU consumption has always been all over the place with IK stuff... some is very low, some is very high...

I bet when I test the new Overloud Gem Voice on the other hand (which certainly can be used for much more than just voice processing) I will find out that CPU-useage is uniformly low.

Post

Isn't it obvious that latency will change depending on how many and which modules are selected? Same for CPU usage. Basic digital EQ will eat less CPU than eg. emulation of analog preamp.
So far I could test it only in laptop with Live and CPU usage is low. I can imagine that when I'll try it on modern PC, CPU usage will be marginal. Especially in comparison to AA or IKM Tapes plugins :)

Post

No, the big CPU differences between individual IK processors (and sometimes even different settings on the same processors) can't be explained that easily. Read Saukar's post again. They do not appear to always be systematic.

Kushview Element says 3 samples.

Some types of fx will always add significant delay and paper that may rule out using it on anything 'live' like as a wet guitar fx, but fine for post processing. That said, I could really hear/feel any delay when I was playing guitar or bass through the supplied pre-sets.
