Guilty as charged though I'm now using VCV Rack to create generative stuff and it's next level. There are dozens and dozens of modules for creating randomness and best of all the vast majority are free to use. Add to that there are some cheap VCV modules that let you output directly to MIDI instruments and effects and it's all gravy. There are some limits though, you can run out of CPU fairly quickly once you start piling the modules up, but I recently discovered how to save the audio out to Reaper (I believe Ableton Live is almost as easy) by using ReaRoute and you can just start bouncing parts out to audio to save processor.
I am interested in this as well - could you please name the VCV modules that you are using for this, and some examples of your setup/routing for this purpose?

Thanks!

My best advice, follow a guy named Omri Cohen on YouTube and join his Patreon and pay at the $5 level for just one month to get access to his library of downloadable patches and module presets.

He has created so many VCV Rack videos, at least one new one most weeks, that chances are he's already tackled something you're trying to do. He largely does it with the free modules too.

Some examples...

His latest vid covers the free Grayscale modules that include a load of randomness and a souped up take on Mutable Instruments's Clouds named Supercell.

Wow! amazing and very informative thread

Does anyone here have experience with Captain Chords and Plugins with Reaper as host DAW? It does not appear on the official list, however Captain Chords is recognized by Reaper 6. What details or flaws have someone experienced con this DAW and CC?

Been a while since I tried as I tend to now only use a Reaper for mastering, but I think it works fine. Reaper’s MIDI routing is very strong.

Waves Ovox can convert voice to midi in real-time
http://everyplugin.com/ovox-vocal-resynthesis.html
then connect it to the many midi fx mentioned in this thread.
Use code MAGIC40 and get it for $43.16.

Has anyone used Ovox for the midi output?
I am very tempted to get it.

It looks pretty much like the functionality of Cubase chord tracks, but in a plug-in.

I don't know Cubase, but I don't see anything in Forager that acts like a chord track in, say, Studio One, Waveform, or Captain plugins—iow, anything that remaps existing MIDI to follow a chord. Did I miss something?

Might be fun to try.

AFAIK that does not exist in Forager.

What are some good MIDI mappers? I want to transform CC64 to another CC# with custom curve response and min-max values.

Just download Scaler 2.1 from Plugin Boutique
I already have Scaler 2.
I checked it on Vitustotal.com and it would not give me the results.
Never happened before.
Hmmm!
