Live: selective midi mapping on focus?

Wondering if live offered anything similar to Reapers selective mapping of midi controllers? As in you can define a mapping to be enabled only when the plugin has focus allowing you to define the same controllers to different parameters in different plugins.

Nearest I've found was a video of a controller defined as a control surface, could select a device on a channel then it's knobs where mapped to that plugs macros.

So wondering if possible with straight midi CCS.

Looks like I can do this using racks and a remote script, time to play.
