Does it depend on how many and which modules you are using?

Not for the guitar pre-sets, I didn't even think about it to be honest until some said they had measured it!revvy wrote: Sun Sep 20, 2020 9:58 amIs it more noticeable than Amplitube?SLiC wrote: Sun Sep 20, 2020 9:48 amSome types of fx will always add significant delay and paper that may rule out using it on anything 'live' like as a wet guitar fx, but fine for post processing. These delays often look bad written down but in reality when you play it doesn't make much of a different (and in playback its all compensated for anyway). There are only a handful of fx I can even think of that have a delay too long to make them hard to use live with something like a Guitar, Adaptiverb being one!

It depends on how many and which modules. Some add significant latency, like SaturatorX. Others only add a few samples of latency.Monsum wrote: Sat Sep 19, 2020 7:16 pm Does anyone know what the MixBox latency is?

I've been testing this out and like it a lot. However, I've noticed something odd (but I may be doing something wrong) in that any module with a sync option (e.g. Autopan, or the Slicer) do indeed sync to the host tempo, but don't appear to sync to the transport. That is, if you stop playback, go to the start of a bar and start again, the syncing doesn't reset (so panning will be out of phase, or the slicer will be delayed even though in time). Can anyone else confirm this?
I've tried both VST2 and VST3 versions, in Reason and in Studio One.
This could be a limitation of the demo version perhaps.

After some more demoing i uninstalled.
- The blurry interface is really annoying.
- The fx taken from T-Racks versions (like the CSR Reverbs and SaturatorX) are severely crippled in functionality. Wasn't able to recreate my own presets for these fx inside MixBox.
- No oversampling options.
- No routing or M/S options.
- Clicking for showing either presets or mix amount. They take up little space so why not show them all the time.
- Changing latency values. Leads to clicks and pops when switching modules or presets.
- Weird syncing behaviour in some of the modules.
- Daw automation doesn't follow function names.
- Too much cpu use for several modules. Bigger chains eat too much cpu.
- Most of the modules are pretty mediocre. Some are interesting but too limited, and some are just plain bad. For me personally it's too little interesting ones to spend the money.
- Is it a channelstrip, guitar-fx or multi-fx ? The choice of available modules is weird for either one.
So in short : Not for me.

I just found in Ableton that tweaking wet/dry and activating/deactivating modules can lead to phase issues. It feels like MixBox can't properly update info about latency and everything is becoming messy. It happened when I used SSL Comps, 1176 and SatX.

Same thing in Ableton. Definitely not demo limitation.Chrispy wrote: Sun Sep 20, 2020 3:43 pm I've been testing this out and like it a lot. Once again we see KVR is left to beta test another IK Multimedia product.

Unfortunately today beta is the new final version. And it's not about IKM but almost any software starting from operating systems and ending on video games. Number of developers who're bringing finished product is shrinking every day.Teksonik wrote: Sun Sep 20, 2020 5:19 pm Once again we see KVR is left to beta test another IK Multimedia product.![]()

I’ve been testing pretty extensively in Logic 10.5.1 on Mojave without incident, and I rather like it, though I haven’t made a final purchase decision yet.
Frankly, it’s IK’s history of annoying anti-consumer behavior (refusal to disable unavailable presets in Amplitube, refusal to change the no-choice-but-to-install-all on T-Racks) that’s giving me pause. I think MixBox would work well for me, and I appreciate what Peter said above that there are no current plans to implement such nonsense on MixBox, but I’m having trust issues, and would be rather upset to buy into this ecosystem and then have IK spring an annoying Amplitube or T-Racks situation on me at some point down the line.

What's the cpu hit and latency like?zvenx wrote: Sun Sep 20, 2020 5:56 pm Just for balance, I haven't had a single crash or issue in Cubendo mac or pc. (knock on wood)

Both reasonable. I have been using it on guitar mostly..... and playing it live and haven't had a latency issue thus far... and I do seem to recall one of the presets I made had a saturator in it.
