Absurd list from a sham of a rag. It's a top ten paying advertisers list.

To the OP, the only real choice at that price range is the JBL 305p, and you will need an interface too. Steinberg UR12 would be best, and even new that lot would set you back around $370.

If your budget can stretch to the LP6's, do that.

I mastered our most recent album on a pair of Eris 3.5s. I had a listen on my big Wharfedales during the process and it confirmed that what I was doing with the little 'uns was getting the job done. If you know the music you are mastering and the speakers/headphones you are using, mastering isn't hard. You don't need to be able to hear down to 40Hz to know how 40Hz will sound once your finished. If you look at a spectrum analyzer you will see that it just doesn't work that way.
roman.i wrote: Wed May 20, 2020 10:13 pmTo do a proper mastering you'll need years of professional experience, very expensive gear, a mastering level room. It's not something you can do in your bedroom with pair of a budget near fields.
That's absolute bullshit. I've mastered our last two albums on my boat and they sound great.
Anyways, regarding an entry level setup. In my understanding a basic setup needs at least 6 inch near fields, and few acoustic broadband panels on the front and side walls.
More bullshit. If you are using a nearfield set-up, you don't need to treat the room at all. That's the whole point of it.

Anyway, I had a pair of Eris 4.5s and swapped them for a pair of 3.5s. I prefer the 3.5s, they just feel like they offer a little bit more clarity and detail and it's clarity and detail you want in a pair of studio monitors, not more bass.

Hello
I use xlr cable for audio recording
My problem is that I use a 1 meter cable, high frequency noise is high, but when I use a 5 meter cable, high frequency noise is high, in addition to the sound is very weak and low, I also have a preamp;
What exactly is the problem?
please guide me.
Thanks

Considering the price point, I'd recommend these: https://www.thomann.de/de/jbl_lsr_305p_mkii.htm

Took me a bit to get used to mine (I have the predecessors), but, they really sound good to me, and, have a amazing bass, especially (not exaggerated, although a bit boomy when you have them close to the wall). The only thing I could criticize really is that they have a bit of a noise floor. I only really hear that though when it's pretty quiet. They're also pretty finicky in terms of positioning. I bought some foam pads, and put it below the speakers, so that the tweeters point directly towards me, and it definitely helps with the sound. I also think that the stereo positioning is not quite as easy as on some other speakers (e.g. my former M-Audio BX5a were better in that regard, surprisingly!). Other than that, I'm really happy with them.

I can master a porn track in my bathroom with my bluetooth earbuds and it will sound great on any system.
It's all about the content, not the mastering.
