I've just tested in Reaper and it works for me in Catalina, but I've disabled Gatekeeper via a terminal command. Obviously PluginGuru can't expect all Catalina users to do that. On the other hand, they could try to de-quarantine the plugin themselves by typing:

sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine /path/to/pg-8x.vst

but I don't know whether this works after having been downloaded by the end user.

That command worked for me to get the vst running again in Logic after Catalina upgrade. I'm running the vst inside NI Komplete. Hope this helps someone!

I don't care about fake strings, but I like the Rhodesy piano sound, I wonder how they did that on such a simple synth.

perhaps try adjusting the freq on the low pass filter?

Am i the only one who can't get the LFOs to work?
Neither DCO modulation nor filter modulation seems to do anything.
On my JX-10P even the smallest value has a noticable effect. Especially on the DCOs.

Love this synth

But it won't remember certain settings (like LFO Sync for example) when loading new instances. It used to before I upgraded my HD.

So where does the PG-8X.ini file go? Right now it's in the VST Plugins folder with the .dll.

It shows the following info...

DEFAULT_NUM_VOICES = 12
GLOBAL_GAIN = NORMAL

PRESETDIR = D:\Documents\PG-8X Presets\AM PG8X\
SEND_PARAM_SYSEX = FALSE
SEND_PROG_SYSEX = FALSE

The directory locations are correct and it opens them when loading/saving, but it won't load the default bank on startup.

Can anyone help?

EDIT: Ok I got it working with the following path:

DEFAULT_BANK = D:\Documents\PG-8X Patches\Test Bank.PG8Xbank

Try removing the "\AM PG8X" from your path and see if that works.

Default Bank loads here on start up

Did you try my suggestion before reporting the "bug" ?

Yes Tek. It wasn't that.

However, I did manage to fix it. I had made a mistake with the default bank location address. Corrected it and it's working now. User error.
