Recently got diagnosed with ADD and will start medication after a lifetime of chaos which also has led to tons of unfinished tracks.

For those of you who have ADD/ADHD, which are your best tips when it comes to staying organized, keeping focus and finishing songs?

Maybe you should ask yourself the question: how might your condition have interfered with your creative work in the past, since I believe the condition manifests in different ways in different people. Are you prone to seeking distraction and easily losing focus on the task at hand? Then try to find ways to minimize distraction. Some ADD / ADHD people (I have another, but similar condition) are prone to internet addiction / binge surfing. Best way to avoid this: get an offline machine for your music work.

I've never been diagnosed, however I think I suffer from it. I have what is called 'hyperfocus', meaning that I get so deep into details that I get lost into them, and ultimately get really tired . I think I've never finished a track . Because I get lost tweaking.

Oh, I also suffer from INTERNET ADDICTION. I can spend hours browsing.

However I noticed this : if I set a TIMER, I finish things. Last year I had a spare hour at lunchtime, and I would quickly jot down a track in 15 minutes. It worked because I've made 20 of them. Not full songs, just sketches, but it worked.

Oh, and using a TEMPLATE works great.

I'm also a heavy coffee consumer.
What is the exact thing that doesn't allow you to finish songs ?
I am musically schizophrenic
