Next month now our work pay dispute has been settled and a pay rise backdated to April I can eye up a drum machine to pair with it. Don’t want to go too OTT as I’ll still do most stuff in the box, but I don’t fancy an RD-6 and the RD-8 is too big so wondering about either a Drumbrute Impact or maybe an Elektron Model:Samples. Anyone got any recommendations up to £300?
Maybe the MFB 501 Pro if you want something less ordinary...

Spec and price are good, but unfortunately I couldn't handle that form factor. Would be hard to place that somewhere to use it easily.

Heh, yeah it's not the prettiest or having the best form factor. Their stuff is good though.
MFB comes highly recommended afaik.

Ok one last drum machine I thought was pretty interesting and super affordable. Drum Kid from
Matt Bradshaw, you could get a couple of them for that much. Pretty experimental and cool,
maybe not so practical. I will likely get one sooner or later just for fun.

That does look a lot of fun and at £99 I could maybe get that and use it alongside a more trad drum machine. I'm going to want something a bit more predictable to sequence patterns, run the clock and push out to the TD-3, but that little unit looks like it would be great for percussion. And I love that it's so tiny. Thanks.

Definitely it looks fun. I have a number of small synths, and you can just plug them all into
each other. Sample them, apply onboard effects and whatnot, it's really a lot of fun. :tu:

I'll be getting the liven 8bit warps from the kickstarter soon, that thing has 4 tracks, sampling,
looping, granular, a step sequencer/built in button keyboard, midi, a fantastic 8bit audio engine,
useful speakers etc, it was $160...

I have no money left. I bought Nord Wave II, Nord Electro 6D, Nord Grand, Roland TD-50, Fantom 6, Soundcraft Ui24R, Roland TR-8S, and Kawai MP11SE.

So just the twenty grand then?

Good to see the octopus community taking their music hardware seriously.

Rather than start a new thread may as well ask here...

Was looking at some of the more expensive synths on the Andertons web site and it seems they offer 3 year interest free credit on the Moog dark Matriarch, but I can't see it for others. Any other places offering long term interest free deals on that kind of stuff (in the UK at least)? I'm particularly interested in anywhere that may do it on Prophets.
Actually, after comparing deals the choice of what is on a 9, 18, 24 or 36 month interest free deal seems pretty arbitrary.

Edit: Hmmm just noticed Scan Computers is offering up to 48 months interest free using Paypal credit and that’s across everything they sell though I guess it also depends on how much you spend.

It’s a very white bread choice as it seems to be entirely digital, but having a look at drum machine options the MC-101 offers a hell of a lot in a small form factor and I like how it can also run off batteries. I’m subscribing to Roland Cloud so the potential for creating kits how I want and then bringing them in is enticing,

Oh hello, this just dropped today and could be just what I was after - a smaller brother to the TR-8S

Edit: well I was fully onboard until I read about it limiting you to only 6 simultaneous tracks. Back to the MC-101 I guess.

This morning I sold my Disting EX, bought a Blinds, and traded one of my two Rings for a Mystic Circuits Ana.

Rearranged my rack and I've got 24HP of space to play with and no specific plans (...maybe CVilization, maybe I will fall for the lure of Desmodus).

I see a move away from menus and modal things there... but still tempted by CVilization?

It's a tricky balance. I could use some more envelopes but reluctant to give them a lot of space and eyeing up a Zadar. Or would an NLC Triad do the job for less brainpower?

When CVilization was first demo'd, the idea of a compact matrix mixer that also quantized was really exciting to me. My compositional habits have changed a bit since then, and yeah, I am concerned about crypticness/cheat sheet requirements. But I want to see some demos and read the manual to judge, because some modules like that manage to get through and make me love them anyway :hihi:

I keep hearing good things about Zadar, but it seems like a lot of envelope content to wade through when fewer shapes probably would have been better... at least so I think without actually using it. Same way I feel about the Rossum Morpheus filter -- I don't want to scroll through 280 filter configurations and tweak them until I decide which one to use.

First post here, just upgraded my interface from a scarlett 2i to a Clarett 4pre USB, really happy with the quality upgrade and the new recording possibilities with the added inputs.
