Honestly, i havnt tryed it out, but it sounds like this may be relevant to what you are asking? go ahead and tell me if im completely off.mjones4th wrote:You will never cease to have problems with any OS9 programs that need to access system hardware. Classic compatibility was meant more for word processing and spreadsheet programs than anything else. The OS9 program needs to go through OSX in order to access system hardware, like soundcards.
Sorry to say, but you won't be able to get stable audio streaming from a Classic application. With MIDI, you may have a chance, using MIDIBridge (x (still in beta, but you can download the demo here: http://www.troikatronix.com/midibridge9x.html)
I've never used Muzys, as I started off in Logic, but depending on your needs you can try Garage Band for now (and it should already be installed on your machine). Other options include Cubase, Logic, and Digital Performer. Cubase and Logic also have limited versions for less moola.
any solution for muzys on osX??

As i said before, I am very happy with the ASIO Driver you linked me to, but i only have one problem.. there seems to be almost one second of latency. is there a way to change this in muzys?? or maybe does anybody have a link to a faster ASIO Driver??
This one works fine for now (until the new program comes out), but it would be nice to work without the delay.

It's probably going to be a waste of time. Because of the nature of the classic mode implementation on OSX (it is basically an emulation) it will be almost impossible to avoid humongous latencies. You may be able to improve your latency somewhat but it will likely be negligible.
I also have Muzys running under OSX but just using OMS and the default sound mapper. I also experience a huge amount of latency, but I find it is still useful for programming beats and grooves (yes, I pencil each note in) and then rendering out to a wav file to be used in another program (as a loop for example.)

Yeah, I read something about possible latencies in the Readme of Prosoniq's ASIO driver.... but 1 second is a bit much.
However, other than Exit Zero I guess it's more about ASIO than about OSX/Classic, because I can use other sound programs in Classic via Soundmanager without noticable latency. And what the Prosoniq ASIO driver does is submit sound to the Soundmanager, AFAIK.
What's it like when you are not using MIDI, does the latency here just mean that you have to wait one second to hear something after you hit 'play', or is it a problem when you e.g. edit VST instruments?

When i hit play, I hear the second of latency, also when i hit a key on my keyboard... But when i use the default ASIO driver, i dont hear the latency, it just sounds the CPU is being overloaded... actualy, it never even sounded this bad on my other computer when i overloaded the cpu..
If there is no solution to this, I can handle working with delays... just having the sound played back smoothly is a big step. il just have to wait for the new stuff, but thats not gonna stop me from looking.
