Hi all,
Could you guys please help me on this? SL MKiii has 8 knobs and I can easily map Zebra 2's knobs (by using "configure"). When I saved the project and reload it again, the knobs mapping still there. But if I opened up another project and load in Zebra 2, then the mappings were gone. I needed to repeat the last mapping process again and again if I have new project opens up. How to keep all the mapping ?
Cheers and have a nice weekend.

1) You write your own script for the controller, which you have to know how
2) You use the functionality of "Instant Mappings", i.e. where Live tries to map 8 knobs to most likely modulation targets for whatever device is currently in focus. If the device is a Rack, then it maps the knobs to 8 macros. So the solution would be to put each VST in Instrument Rack, map the Rack macros to the parameters you'd like to always have exposed and save that as a preset to be used instead of the "pure" VST itself.

Map how and what? VST controls to Instrument Rack macros?

no need to rack/group, with a rack you control 8 macro, but you can also control directly your vst instrument with up to 128 midi parameters, they appears on the controler on the order you mapped them.

Yes, but this only exposes the VST parameters to the direct control of the DAW.
What OP is asking for is how to ensure, that every time he drags in e.g. Hive to his project, knob #1 on his SL Mk3 controls cutoff, knob #2 is resonance; whereas when he drags in e.g. Diva, knob #1 is amp attack and knob #2 is amp release. AFAIK this can be only achieved in either of the 2 ways I described

i beleive op just want to recall the controls assigment he previously made when he load Zebra on a new project, that what "save as default configuration" is made for..
but i might be wrong

Ableton doesn't work like Bitwig in this regard. In Bitwig every device has a Remotes section with several pages of 8 remotes available for device and presets. In Ableton only Racks have those, therefore You'll have to follow my instructions, instead

Load Zebra into an instrument rack, assign knobs you want to control to the racks macro, then save as Zebra Instrument Rack. When you reload the rack the controls will still be mapped to the macro correctly.
