And that's what you think Prodigy is? To me, Prodigy make dance music, like Aphex Twin or any of that shite.
Actually there is an Oberheim-ish type driving pad in that which perhaps would not be possible on a Juno.
The low quiet one? That's just a really generic Vacuum Pro patch. The higher pitched, string-ish one in the chorus is DUNE. The more lead-ish one towards the end of the song is RePro 5.
I did own a Juno 106 for a couple of years and have a soft spot for it, especially that chorus.
I've owned a lot of synths but I don't have soft spots for too many of them, certainly none from that time. I form attachments to songs, not the things I use to create them.

Who gives a shit, it sounds great! The big problem with it is that it's 32 bit, not that it doesn't sound like some piece of shit from the 70s.
david.beholder wrote: Thu Oct 01, 2020 8:19 pmOB-X is certain synth with certain sound, it has distinctive VCO, Detune, VCF sound. Doing generic synth with clipping diodes distortion is far away from what makes OB-X synth OB-X. Have they done proper filter emulation?
Again, who gives a shit, as long as it sounds good?

I give a shit. You could rename yourself to Alan Wilder but unless you're able to produce DM grade arrangements you're not. Regardless on how many polka arrangements you did you'd still be AW wonnabe.
Murderous duck!

you do know he left DM many years ago.....and produced nothing of note since

Well, that is a blasphemy! Liquid is a wonderful album. Only this is enough to prove his talent. Also Bloodline has great songs while Subhuman is a wonderful experiment with Blues.
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

the best song on bloodline is a cover :P

Well, can't say I even like faith healer if that's what you mean. Bloodline is not my favourite but Liquid and Unsounded Methods are from the best I have heard like this one :

Alan Wilder hasn't been in Depeche Mode for 25 years and he hasn't exactly made a splash as a solo artist (or with Recoil). Depeche Mode certainly never missed a beat after he departed. I'd be a little concerned if I couldn't do a better job than him.

I have no idea about DM hierarchies or for that matter most of their tunes, I simply know his name so he's artist-famous for me

You don't think Alan Wilder was a strange choice? It seems very strange to me. He could have said Martin Gore, who actually writes all of DM's songs, that would have made at least some sense.

MG and DG are the most famous moders for me. Gonna have a proper look on wiki now.

Now I'm confused... can Alan Wilder compete with Diva and Repro? In 2020, no less?
