Ahhh... the proof in the pudding, so to speak.
Can anything compete with DIVA or Repro in 2020?!

It was "drifting"! It became Can "Bones" compete with "Alan Wilder"? The answer is maybe! It depends on how you use "Bones" to make music!ariston wrote: Fri Oct 02, 2020 7:48 am Now I'm confused... can Alan Wilder compete with Diva and Repro? In 2020, no less?
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

If you had mentioned Fletch I may have agreedBONES wrote: Fri Oct 02, 2020 7:30 am You don't think Alan Wilder was a strange choice? It seems very strange to me. He could have said Martin Gore, who actually writes all of DM's songs, that would have made at least some sense.
He brought a lot of energy to Martin's ideas.

BONES please. Aphex Twin is not shite and certainly it isn’t dance music whatsoever. He is GOD.BONES wrote: Thu Oct 01, 2020 11:53 pmAnd that's what you think Prodigy is? To me, Prodigy make dance music, like Aphex Twin or any of that shite.
Please listen to ambient works. AFX might be considered dance sometimes but even that is the top of the top. But each to their own. I guess you are American though so different taste/culture.

Bones are a great percussion instrument! A bunch of chicken bones make a great, crusty rattle. Beyond that, though, I don't really see any use.

Hmm - Its not just about the sound a thing makes, The Juno was my first synth and I was younger, and the world was a completely different place than today.BONES wrote: Thu Oct 01, 2020 11:53 pm
I've owned a lot of synths but I don't have soft spots for too many of them, certainly none from that time. I form attachments to songs, not the things I use to create them.
When I first got it home I was so exited, the strings were to die for with the chorus 2 engaged. I could hook it up to my Yamaha CX5M music computer and make FM \ analogue tracks.
And its also about the look of the thing as an object existing in a material world. Some things are just nice to look at and have around.
Vacuum Pro is very underrated, its a great synth for little money.
I see you describe your music as "post punk industrial". Really ?
Its not like any mainstream punk that I recall. Mind you, I never liked punk so I have limited knowledge about it to draw on.
Prodigy was not my thing so I never listened to them either, it was just a shot in the dark.It was more about there anarchism.

Anyway, I was trying more Model 72. Hmmm! Although I like it, but why I've got the feeling they have overdone it with the instability? It sounds nice, but very instable. I think it can be very nice for atmospheric and background sounds. I don't know! It is different from Diva but I believe it is on the same level. If it is going cheaper, I might think of it, but at $99 it is not a bargain (that's about NZ$148 which is not cheap).

Maybe. It’s now got the stamp of Buurens and Garrexes and Cheese. And overpriced DJs and Sylenth1.
Roland Klinkenberg used to be cool though so respect there. He should have received the credits instead of the holland cheese.
But money money money.
I think the filter of Super 8 sounds better than any of the Diva filter’s to back to topic. Feel free to hate me.

Interesting, since I'm eyeing the Komplete Upgrade... at least during the end of the year sale. If you can get to it, why not post some examples of this superior filter?pbr985 wrote: Fri Oct 02, 2020 10:28 am Maybe. It’s now got the stamp of Buurens and Garrexes and Cheese.
